Sleeping in your birthday suit

Am in bed in pyjamas plus dressing gown freezing under the duvet and I wonder how did the habit of sleeping naked start? Do people do it in summer only but also in winter? Surely it wasn’t a thing years ago when bedrooms were not warmed and it was freezing indoors.

Also how do people ever get out of a warm bed naked or do they get changed under the covers first?

I@blebbleb our kids have no issue. There old enough to express this should they wish but are happy with our way of life

I'm sorry but I'd have to put a stop to that immediately. For me the only thing worse than a man in only a t shirt is a man in only a t shirt and socks! The horror, the ick would be unimaginable! 🤮

Luckily OH is in agreement on this very important relationship point and always undresses socks first followed by top half to be safe. 😁

I sleep naked all year round, unless I'm on my period which is when the huge pants come out just in case 😅

Slept naked till I got my diabetic pump 20 years ago, since worn pants to clip pump to.

We both sleep naked, if it's really cold dh would warm up my side of the bed but since the joys of peri menopause found me I sleep with a summer duvet and the windows open. Poor dh tells me at times our bedroom could be used as a morgue overflow.

I can’t wear clothes in bed, a light nightie if it’s super cold. I started sleeping naked around 5 years ago, before that I was in knickers but now even they annoy me. I am one of them people who doesn’t like wearing trousers / jeans too so maybe a sensory thong?
DH sleeps in boxers.

My husband sleeps naked every single night and constantly moans about how cold he is. Literally will want the thickest duvet and a blanket...just put some bloody pyjamas on!

Reading this while tucked up in my pyjamas, fluffy socks and a oodie! I love being warm and cosy lol! I will take the oodie off before I sleep but couldn't imagine sleeping naked, id be too cold lol!

We sleep naked all year around. Heating is off overnight, and our windows are slightly ajar as well, as we like the fresh air.

We have an all seasons duvet and a wool blanket for the bed, depending on the season. When we get up we put a dressing gown on!

I hate being hot at night so completely nude, no heating and window open. We do have two duvets though.

I don't have a cold house. I have a warm flat. In the morning I pull a nightdress on so I'm not parading through the apartment haha. I also often have electric blanket on the lowest setting. Toasty.

Always sleep naked, always have.

Even when I was little I remember pulling my nighty off in the middle of the night.

We have a duck feather duvet and a thick deep filled mattress topper than you sink into so I think that makes it warmer in winter months.

Always have the window open too (tiny bit), can't stand a stuffy room!

Always sleep naked, hate the feeling of pj's twisting round and find it really hard to sleep if I have to wear them (hospital stay or hotel room sharing) I even sleep naked when we camp, it's easier to snuggle up together and stay warm!

so maybe a sensory thong? I'm really intrigued by this.

@cpphelp the only reason I don’t is I have to get up and see several times a night and can’t be arsed getting dressed and undressed! It’s certainly not a heat thing

Night shirt, long sleeve top, fluffy socks, duvet, throw & an extra blanket on my side.

DH -nude. & he’s always red hot to touch.

Only knickers here. DH naked. Very light duvet and window open all year round. In hotels I just sleep under the duvet cover because I get so hot. If it's cold I shove a blanket on top but usually kick it off in the night. I keep my clothes on the floor next to the bed and then put clean stuff on after I've had a shower.

I can't sleep naked; I hate the feel of it. I have to have short sleeved & long legged pyjamas.

Long t shirt, don't have heating in the bedroom coz I'm always hot. Bought OH a nightshirt last Christmas because his shoulders get cold keeping me happy with windows open. He's a nightshirt convert now.
