Just children, or adults too?

I don't. Waste of bloody money and nothing to do with Easter.

Lulu1919 · 13/03/2023 07:51

My adult children and their husbands !!!
It's just tradition

Ihatebloodycocomelon · 13/03/2023 08:22

Just my children. We have an agreement with siblings not to get eggs for nieces and nephews as it becomes an insane amount of chocolate, by the time they've all got them from parents, grandparents, elderly aunts, school etc etc etc

I'll probably get one for DH as well, otherwise he'll sulk!

How is chocolate a ‘waste of money’ if it’s a gift for someone who likes chocolate? Surely it’s only a waste of money if they don’t get eaten?

GandhiDeclaredWarOnYou · 13/03/2023 08:45

One each for my kids, for my nieces if we happen to see them that day.

I always got a Maltesers or Flake one for my mum because growing up her parents would give her a bar of Dairy Milk because it was “better value” and she craved a proper chocolate egg.

Hopingforno2in2023 · 13/03/2023 08:49

I buy enough for DS to have an Easter egg hunt. I also buy DH one and this year will buy BIL one as he is living with us. Outside of family I will buy lots for the WI Easter bingo as prizes and also enough for an Easter egg hunt for the children’s group I run. So many many many eggs.

DelurkingAJ · 13/03/2023 08:53

DS2 and DH. DS1 doesn’t like chocolate (leading me to wonder if he’s a changeling as DH and I love it so…but he’s the spitting image of DH so…) and will get a book or similar.

mondaytosunday · 13/03/2023 09:39

My kids only. Unless I've got kids coming as guests, then will give them some (or had a hunt when younger).

ChillysWaterBottle · 13/03/2023 11:00

To my partner, my parents, and my younger sister since she'd kill me if I didn't get her one! I don't for my child yet as too young for chocolate.

mast0650 · 13/03/2023 11:08

My kids.
My young nieces and nephews, but only if we see them over Easter weekend.
I don't think I have ever bought an easter egg for anyone else.

shieldmaiden7 · 13/03/2023 11:16

My children. Me and DH pick ourselves ones if we fancy it. He is usually given a little one from work too.

Cuppaand2biscuits · 13/03/2023 11:18

There's only my children and my brother's children in our family so usually I do an egg hunt for them all at some point over the Easter weekend then they get those eggs to take home as well as a small chocolate bunny.
Then I buy more boxed eggs for my children, my husband and myself for Easter Sunday.

purpleboy · 13/03/2023 11:19

I wish randoms would stop buying for my kids.
We have to limit their chocolate intake and don't keep chocolate crisps etc.. in the house. It drives me insane that at Easter we ended up with near on 20 large eggs in the house, it more than any child needs and despite multiple requests to not buy eggs they all still bloody do it.
Can't it just be left to the parents to buy and egg if they want?

Beeboopaboo · 08/04/2023 23:19

100% agree. It stops getting your Easter egg being a special thing.

NeverHadANickname · 08/04/2023 23:25

3 year old son, husband, adult step children and my parents.

NeverHadANickname · 08/04/2023 23:26

Oh and we got a treat for the dog too. No one buys for DS except us and my parents and they didn't get him chocolate this year.
