—DD, DP, MIL;
— half of the niblings (the other half have dairy allergies, so they get an Eastery gift or book);
— I usually get a plant or some flowers each for the siblings
— some nice chocs and /or a plant for my mum and dad.
We usually have quite a big family meal, so it all ends up a bit like Christmas, but with eggs and plants instead of presents.
DD usually gets around 7 eggs - including one each from grandparents, some from my siblings, one from DP and me, one from her godmother. DD is a bit in an environmental activist so they can’t contain any palm oil! Quite a few of the “eggs” end up being Lindt bunnies….
As a child I got around 6 or 7 eggs each year, as I recall (and I have photos too…) So, about the same number - only the eggs were much smaller then! They were those small Smarties and Buttons and Jelly Tots eggs — not the massive £10 giant monster eggs of today. I’d get one from mum and dad, one from the Easter Bunny, and the rest from grandparents, aunts and uncles. Happy days!
We all stopped getting chocolate eggs after the age of about 12 - it was much more of a kids-only thing then! I used to send the siblings a few little bits of choc when they were at university, but not actual eggs. We didn’t really all start giving Easter presents as adults until eggs for grown ups became more of a thing.
