Nicest/not nice celebs.

Who is the nicest celeb you've met?

On the flip side who was not nice?

I had a friend who met Girl's Aloud after she won a competition.

They waited hours to met them, waiting for them to arrive.

Apparently Nadine was lovely, chatted and genuinely seemed interested to meet them.

Sarah & Nicola not so nice, very mardy and diva-ish.

DD had a small part in a Coronation Street episode a few years ago. She said the actors who played Gail and Liz came over to her and were so welcoming, kind and lovely.

I was very young, and now I'm older than most people here, so I will touch very few MN hearts when I say that Frank Muir was not only my hero, but also quite wonderful.

You've touched my heart! I hope Denis Norden was also lovely.

My grandma used to babysit Shirley Crabtree! I will assume he behaved well...

I'm sure he was an Easy, Easy, Easy baby 😁

TheFireflies · 13/03/2023 09:22

Nicest I’ve met - Rhod Gilbert. Really lovely man who had overheard a disagreement I’d had with another comedian about a rape joke and took time to be supportive and tell me he thought I was right in what I’d said.

Tim Minchin also lovely.

Least nice - Russell Crowe.

Hersetta427 · 13/03/2023 09:24

One of my first jobs after I passed my professional exams was for a company that worked almost exclusively for sportsmen and entertainers.

I had my own client list who I used to look after and for the most part they were lovely. Anythony Head was a client of the firm (not mine) and he was indeed lovely.

My bunch of lovely's included

Jason Donavan (he had just left neighbours and was the height of his fame). I once collected him from reception to find him deep in conversation with the opera singer Jose Carraras which was a very odd dichotomy.

Blur (all of them - they were so happy when Parklife went to number 1. I used to get faxes from Damon and on the fax header sheet it would say, To. Hersetta From. Damon Albon (Number 1 recording artist).

Hugh Grant. He was always absolutely lovely to me, although he was very often really rude to my boss and would refuse to speak to her and ask for me instead. (I even spoke to Liz Hurley a few times when I used to call their home number to speak to Hugh.

The band Supergrass

Areosmith (they arranged for the whole office to get VIP tickets and backstage passes for one of their London Gigs). They even gave VIP tickets to one of their US shows to our receptionist who they used to chat to when they found out she was going to be on holiday in the city at the same time as they were performing.

I can't remember anyone being horrible to me although some were more standoffish obviously.

WeBuiltThisBuffetOnSausageRoll · 13/03/2023 09:41

Penn and Teller - they hang around outside their shows for as long as it takes to speak to everyone who wants to meet them. Very nice people though Penn is a bit odd

Does Teller do any of the speaking - or does he just smile at them?!

Nicest I’ve met - Rhod Gilbert. Really lovely man who had overheard a disagreement I’d had with another comedian about a rape joke and took time to be supportive and tell me he thought I was right in what I’d said.

It's such sad news about Rhod - I really hope he has a full, speedy recovery. You can tell a mile off how lovely he is - he can't even convincingly trash-talk the audience when it's obviously part of the joke!

Whataswizz · 13/03/2023 09:45

DH has met a few with work.

Hugh Grant very rude & up himself
Aleisha Dixon really lovely

I met Peter Andre at a water park once whilst on holiday, & considering he was with his family, he was very gracious and took time with everyone, happy to take photos.
Very nice man.

Close family member worked with Jessie Wallace on a job - worst ever. Rude and obnoxious, attitude problem.

Joe Pasquale - lovely person, down to earth.

I know the ex-FIL of JW. He was... less than complimentary about her

@TallulahBetty

Yes, I’m not surprised at all

Teller does indeed speak. He is an incredibly kind, thoughtful and intelligent man.

GandhiDeclaredWarOnYou · 13/03/2023 11:08

It’s a bit niche, I guess, unless you’re really into Springwatch (I am) but Iolo Williams as an absolute delight of a man. Truly lovely.

Jenni Murray is much more prickly than I expected.

PenelopeTitsDrop3121 · 13/03/2023 11:13

Met Jimmy Savile at Broadmoor when I was about 14(party of family and friends of staff there. My friend's dad was a nurse and I went as her plus one). He was there handing out Our price record vouchers, wearing really short gold shorts. He kissed my hand 🤢

Stephen Mulhern was so lovely. Met him with my then young son after a show in Butlins and he was signing art sets. Must have been 300 children there. Met him again slightly hung over the next morning and he remembered my son's name. I was SO impressed.

Son Heung-min lovely, charming, time for fans esp kids
Robert peston really charming
michelle Collins very kind and great with children

Son Heung-Min just seems like a nice dude from what I've seen of the players in the tunnel before games - as does Nick Pope, always chatty to the mascots.

Sir Bobby Charlton, lovely lovely man.
Morrisey tried to give my son a tip for putting his food shopping in the boot of his car at collect by car at m and s. He said he was really friendly.
Craig Charles, arrogant arse, full of himself, still owes my business money (not hundreds but that’s not the point).
Sally (coronation St), got quite shirty with me, although I did nearly knock her over, reversing my car slowly out of a space!
Marcus Rashford, not a pleasant man at all, watch this space.
Mary Berry, just how you’d expect, pure loveliness.

What did MR do???

FiFiWrites · 13/03/2023 11:58

"I saw Will Young in M&S in London years ago. Asked for a pic but he refused. Scribbled his name on a flyer and passed it to me. Very high opinion of himself. He’s just become slightly famous after X factor. I walked off with my shopping and just left the leaflet there."

So you were ruder than he was @BaconChops ?

JaneJeffer · 13/03/2023 12:09

He’s just become slightly famous after X factor.
He wasn't in The X Factor so if you mentioned it that maybe why.

PearlClutzsche · 13/03/2023 12:25

On the subject of Rhod Gilbert... a close friend of mine ended up sitting next to him on a flight. They chatted all the way, and friend said he was a great laugh and a lovely guy.

NorthbyNorthwest22 · 13/03/2023 12:45

Many years ago I work as a civil servant, won’t say exactly what but came across many MPs. The overwhelming majority are exactly as you would expect and I wouldn’t voluntarily give them the time of day in any other situation.

Michael Heseltine was a proper old fashioned gent.

Early 2000s stuck with a flight delay and a small child. Almost 2 hours in and the chuckle brothers sat opposite waiting to board a different flight. They spent a good half hour entertaining the kids who were all totally star struck!

threatmatrix · 13/03/2023 13:19

DrMarciaFieldstone · 10/03/2023 12:03

Wasn’t even you though, it was your friend.

So who knows how it really was

She was just saying it as it is, no need for an investigation 🙄

JillyBeanSLT2B · 12/03/2023 18:06

Stephen Mulherne absolutely lovely, I can't have a word said against him
Simon Le Bon - so kind, we were in the away end at Chelsea, I was totally starstruck and he was chatting away to me
James Cosmo - nobody nicer or kinder
Ryan Giggs - arse
Danny de Vito - lovely
Holly Johnson - hilarious!
Alan Cumming - lovely

Stephen Mulhern is indeed an utterly lovely fellow. now DH and I had been dating for around 4 months when we both decided to go for a temp job over Christmas at the local theatre. Stephen was in the panto that year and rather than spend the time backstage being starry and clicking fingers for us lot to do his bidding, he sat in our staff area, drinking the most terrible coffee from a machine and having a laugh. He realised DH and I were a couple and was totally invested! He even suggested my first Christmas present to DH, which I still have now.

He was the only one of the cast who bothered to meet kids who hung around backstage, he was so sweet and on the last night he took all of us to a local club, and got us all thoroughly drunk on him.

The other guy in it was from London's Burning (not Jon Alford). What a tosser. So rude. So up his own arse. No wonder Stephen sought sanctuary with us mere mortals.

This was around 2000 and I've always said afterwards what a love he was.

Can confirm that Anthony Head is a sweetie!

I used to love him on Call my Bluff!

Harls1969 · 13/03/2023 14:25

I think it's very hard to judge someone on a brief meeting. It must be quite draining and annoying if you're trying to do your shopping and you're being stopped for selfies constantly. I am generally a nice person, but doing the shopping often gives me the arsehole so it's probably not when I'm at my best 😂

whynotwhatknot · 13/03/2023 14:28

my annual melanie sykes is a bitch post not just once either
