Nicest/not nice celebs.

bazzabas · 10/03/2023 11:58

Who is the nicest celeb you've met?

On the flip side who was not nice?

I had a friend who met Girl's Aloud after she won a competition.

They waited hours to met them, waiting for them to arrive.

Apparently Nadine was lovely, chatted and genuinely seemed interested to meet them.

Sarah & Nicola not so nice, very mardy and diva-ish.

James Martin is totally up himself, not very pleasant at all.

I can concur

Conversely Liam Gallagher met my brother in a pub in Edinburgh- both pre-drinks on way to the same gig- and he was an absolute 'legend' according to my brother. He was on his own so joined bro and his mates for drinks and music chat and was a 'top bloke' apparently.

Phil Collins is an absolute arse

I disagree. He lived near me in the late 80s and spent the day signing autographs for a local school fete during a blazing hot summer day.
When I met him, I was star stuck, and he chatted away to my brother. He was at the height of his career.

Nicest: Olivia Newton John - beautiful inside and out. Met her once in a ladies loo in a London shopping centre and she was so friendly and humble, despite being on her way to super-stardom! I've never heard or seen anyone say a bad thing about her!

Worst: Jane McDonald. Gives the image of the Yorkshire "girl next door", friendly to everyone kind of personality, but in reality, she was full of her own importance and quite nasty when I briefly met her.

When I met Jane McDonald she was absolutely lovely and very down to earth.

I was once in Panto with Lisa Riley from Emmerdale and she was awful she kept demanding things and being rude to everyone, we all went to an after party and she wanted to be centre of attention constantly. But she comes across as lovely when I have seen her on loose women etc so perhaps she was just not having the best time.

John Leslie performed in a Panto with me and he was vile. He literally followed all the girls around, offering to take them out for drinks, trying to buy them and really thought he was some sort of lothario. He made my skin crawl.

Joan Hickson... Exactly the same as Miss Marple...
Anthony Head... Very impressed when my son taught him the sign languages for vampire... Lovely guy.
Keith Floyd was hilarious. Came to stay with us for the weekend.. Asked my sister for a mallet to shut me up!

Andy Peters... Vile... He was compering Percy Pigs birthday party last year which my son and I won tickets too... AP made a little boy cry!

Andi Peters impressed my relative as being a genuinely nice man. Years ago, Relative was the truck driver on a road trip, old enough to be Andi's Grandad, yet Andi made sure he was included with all the celebs with everything they did.

DobbyTheHouseElk · 10/03/2023 20:15

Margarita Taylor - totally down to earth and really lovely.

OffToThatPlace · 10/03/2023 20:15

Gordon Ramsay is very pleasant, charming and charismatic off screen, nothing like how he is on Hell's Kitchtemperature.

Liam Gallagher is very down to earth with a great sense of humour.

Cheryl Tweedy/Cole whatever her name is now is extremely rude especially to cabin crew, and has quite a ferocious temper.

Was disappointed to hear that Bryan Ferry is a bit of an arse , especially given his suave image.

VeryQuaintIrene · 10/03/2023 20:26

Crushed to hear that Sandi Toksvig fell into the "not nice" category from a PP.

@imaginationhasfailedme·

Your Mum shouted at SirDr Brian May , brain the size as a planet , the best guitarist in the world and he has a hedgehog rescue in his garden.

That would be akin to kicking a bagful of kittens Shock

What did he do BTW ,
I was smiled at by Brian May in London and my life ever sinc has been enhamced

OMFG I didn't know about the hedgehogs. That might even knock Keanu off the world number one perfect human spot.

Frank lampard - in a bar when I was 19, asked if he could fuck me over his car? I said no - so he called me a miserable bitch! He had a girlfriend at the time.

12FreeRangeEggs · 10/03/2023 20:32

Of all my celeb encounters my absolute favourite is Michael Ball.

I ran into him, literally, about 20 years ago. At the time I was a lowly paid overworked media bod. I was having a dreadful, stressful day and was running from a recording studio to my office through the back streets of Soho. I literally ploughed straight into Michael Ball as he stepped out of a stage door onto the pavement. I automatically pulled my hands up in preparation for a fall and fell onto him, my hands onto his chest. He enveloped me with his arms to stop me from falling onto the pavement. He must have held me for a few seconds as my momentum ran out.

The conversation went something like
“are you ok?”
“Yes sorry, sorry”
“Who are you running from?”
”No I’m late”
”Better let you go! Be careful, don’t hurt yourself!”

And I ran off and turned around and he smiled at me then got in his waiting car.

At the time his accidental hug and genuine concern meant so much to me because I was struggling with so much in my life and job. 20 years later I can still feel his lovely chunky teddy bear arms protecting me and the incident still makes me smile. Lovely lovely man.

Sensibletrousers · 10/03/2023 20:33

I’m delighted that a pp has confirmed that Keith Flint is as adorable as I imagined. RIP sweet man.

I’d love to hear from anyone who’s met:

Richard Ayoade
Bob Mortimer
Ian Wright

(please don’t break my heart!)

Doesn't surprise me. Most footballers are idiots (I've worked at a football club doing stewarding in the past)

I’d love a hug from Michael Ball. He seems utterly lovely.

Rockchick1984 · 10/03/2023 20:40

I'd love to know what Tom Cruise is like in real life...

Yes , he was on TV talking about his set up , there was a little hedgehog that was being attacked by some boys in a park Angry and broke it's leg It was given safe haven in Sir Brian's Sanctuary .

Knocks the spots off Keanu .Wink
And Brian made his own guitar when he was 16yo .
My son could barely make his own bed at 16 !

Ian Wright!

I was in a pub with dh. Ian Wright was drinking at a table near us with a group of friends.

As they were getting up to leave and walking past our table, dh said “excuse me, Mr Wright, I just wanted to say hello, I’m a big fan of yours.”

Ian Wright grabbed dh hand and pulled him in for a hug and said of course, asked him his name they had a few mins chat about football, I asked if I could take a photo of them, he said yes and put his arm around dh, did thank yous and goodbyes and he left.

Dh was over the bloody moon. He was lovely.

HappyBinosaur · 10/03/2023 20:42

@StressedafffI’ve met Phil Foden and he was absolutely lovely!
I think with many of the people on this thread it depends whether you meet them on a good or bad day.

Heather Small from M people. Not nice at all

I'm Sure I read unkind comments she made about people who struggle with weight issues.

PurpleSky300 · 10/03/2023 20:43

Does anyone have any Beatles stories?

HappyBinosaur · 10/03/2023 20:43

Alison Hammond was really lovely when I met her. That was many years ago not long after she was on big brother.

I meet quite a few celebs through work, most are absolutely lovely. I won’t name too many as it would be outing to anyone who knows me but Phil Spencer, AJ Odudu, Rylan and JLS stand out in my mind as being particularly nice and down to earth.

Phil Spencer is a big game hunter.

Oh thank you the relief! My heart!

He was my first celeb crush aged 13 in 1992 so I’d be devastated if he was a known jerk!

KathySeldon · 10/03/2023 20:46

When Philip Schofield was playing Dr Doolittle, he wasn't very nice. very "look-at-me" type and arrogant. (not a great singer either 😂)

godmum56 · 10/03/2023 20:49

bazzabas · 10/03/2023 12:44

I've always thought to myself that he's not as nice as he seems.

I don't think he seems nice.

tothelefttotheleft · 10/03/2023 20:50

Sorry I meant Phil Spencer is a animal trophy hunter.
