Nicest/not nice celebs.

1000 replies

bazzabas · 10/03/2023 11:58

Who is the nicest celeb you've met?

On the flip side who was not nice?

I had a friend who met Girl's Aloud after she won a competition.

They waited hours to met them, waiting for them to arrive.

Apparently Nadine was lovely, chatted and genuinely seemed interested to meet them.

Sarah & Nicola not so nice, very mardy and diva-ish.

@MasterBeth is it a typo? Maybe Ian Botham??

I also only have great things to say about Kris Akabusi. Lovely guy, warm and friendly.

Alistair Campbell. Razor sharp, very lovely and seemed to genuinely listen to what I had to say.

Austin Healey. Arsehole. Rude. Arrogant. Unprofessional.

Shufflebumnessie · 10/03/2023 18:50

I've worked in a few different industries where meeting/working with celebrities is a regular occurance so I've met a fair few.

Nice -

Michael Jackson (& his children)
Les Dennis
Andrew Lloyd-Webber
Pussycat Dolls
Lewis Hamilton
David Beckham
Kylie Minogue
Dexter Fletcher
Jason Statham

Not nice -

Richard Fairbrass (verbally abusive twat!)
Vanilla Ice (obnoxious twat!)
Stephen Fry
Davina McCall
Robbie Williams
Jamie Oliver
Jack Black
Natalie Casey
Russ Abbot (if anyone remembers him)
Brian Conley
Ruth Langsford
Jeremy Kyle
Omid Djalili

I'm not saying anything mean. Just because someone died doesn't mean you can't say what actually happened.

I worked with Sarah and she was absolutely lovely.

Billy Connelly was lovely - and hilarious!

Agree with this - stayed in the same hotel as him in Glasgow a few years ago. He often just wandered about Glasgow and everyone recognised (and loved) him and he’s always happy to say hello. My friend went to uni in Aberdeen and served him quite a few times in a shop he liked when he had his castle in Aberdeenshire and she said he was always super nice. I bloody love him!

Or Scott Gorham.

Verbena17 · 10/03/2023 18:53

@bazzabas Robbie Williams -very nice/jokey.
Andrew Lloyd Webber - very nice.
David Williams - very funny.
Gary Barlow & Kylie Minogue - not as Uber friendly as I had imagined.

But all of the above were met in very specific circumstances, so perhaps the nature of that meant different than normal.

Lordofmyflies · 10/03/2023 18:54

I met a few celebs in my past job. I was lucky enough to meet the late John Thaw and his wife and George Michael. Both very down to earth, kind people. David Beckham and Peter Crouch were also very normal and lovely.
Wayne Rooney was a prat, didn't warm to Rolf Harris or Jeff Banks .

MasterBeth · 10/03/2023 18:33

I wonder if you met Emma Forbes or a Blue Peter presenter? (Emma Forbes didn't present Blue Peter.)

@MasterBeth oops wrong tv show, it was live & kicking, it was quite a few years ago 😂

Andy Serkis was really funny & very kind.

Michael York was a complete sweetheart, very polite to all the fans who came to meet him & refused to go to have his lunch until he was sure that the 2 publicity girls who were with him for the day were taken care of food-wise.

Toby Stephens - very nice. Quite quiet.

Rik Mayall - seemed genuinely pleased to chat to people, not sure if he was just playing up the OTT laddish character or if that's how he was. But still very kind when I met him.

Andy Serkis does a LOT for charity.

Tigerlilz · 10/03/2023 18:56

Nice:
Pete Doherty
Vic Reeves
Danny Dyer
Paula Yates
Olivia Colman
Bradley Walsh
Dermot O'Leary

Not so nice:
Jamie Winstone
Bob Geldof
David Baddiel

Ferne McCann off TOWIE - more than a bit rude in a nightclub!

Ah yea I've had the pleasure of her company a couple of times. Friend of a friend. She is an absolute nightmare. Awfully entitled, rude woman.

"Mardy and diva-ish" is mean.

Its mean to behave lime that to the public who have waited hours to meet you.

I know someone whose job it is to book comedy acts.
His most lovely comedian: Jonny Vegas
His most arsey comedian: Peter Kay

Had the same impression of Peter Kay, not heard good things off anyone who has met him really

openingbat · 10/03/2023 19:03

James Martin is totally up himself, not very pleasant at all.

I'm not a particular fan of Beckham, but I heard a senior manager for one of the big aid charities interviewed about working with celebs. She said that many celebs (not named) were very high maintenance, and had all sorts of demands that were more suited to a gig in LA than a visit to a refugee camp in Sudan. But, when DB came out to visit, he only had one request - for time to be set aside to have a kick about with the kids.

Beowulfa · 10/03/2023 13:23

Many years ago during a particularly dull day at work, I found myself on a forum for airline staff reading a massive thread about their experiences of various celebrities on flights. Cilla Black and Boris Becker were rated the rudest. Kylie was lovely apparently.

Yep, we weren’t allowed to speak to Cilla, we had to address everything to her flight companion. A complete cow.

DragonflyLady · 10/03/2023 19:06

Vicky Entwistle is really rather snooty and stitched a friend of mine up.

LuluLehman · 10/03/2023 19:06

Has anyone met Keanu Reeves?

I used to speak to him on the phone as part of my job - he was always lovely to me!

Poilin · 10/03/2023 19:09

Gemma collins ugly rude and entitled horrible person .

PictureConsequences · 10/03/2023 19:09

Keanu is surely a god?!
I once prodded Trudie styler in the chest at Wembley at a Madonna concert. I have no idea why I did that. She smiled at me, probs exhausted after a tantric sex sesh.

Ridikulus · 10/03/2023 19:11

MarmiteMakesMeHappy · 10/03/2023 15:19

Conversely: Russell Kane (comedian not 'eye in the sky') - really nice.

I agree with this. A few years ago I very drunkenly approached Russell Kane and spoke at him for a while. He was nothing but charming and a complete delight when he could have just rolled his eyes and walked away.

PetitPorpoise · 10/03/2023 19:12

I hope Bob Mortimer is nice. I can't imagine him being horrible.

JMSA · 10/03/2023 19:15

Paolo Nutini is a close family friend. He's lovely and has kept all his childhood friends.
