I know I'm going to! Bit pricey to be fair, but a bucket list thing for me.

Yes, will be trying my best! My sister lives in Liverpool and want to go too so will just need to book a train and sleep on her sofa

Spidergloves · 06/03/2023 10:27

Ooh, what is the village?

Around the arena (Pier Head probably) will be a large area set up with bars and screens. They haven't released details about it yet but I think it's free entry and will have a big party atmosphere.

I see they are also screening it on the Mersey ferry so you can watch it on the river Grin

Oh on, really?. I know this sounds strange, but I hope he is not one of the hosts.
I love his dry, sarcastic, funny criticisms of the hosts. 😁

GN has been announced as the main host for the final on the Saturday night. Not sure who will present the radio 2 coverage.

When it was last in the UK in Brum, Terry Wogan and Ulrika Jonsson presented and TW did the commentary from behind the stage. No reason why GN can't do the same this time.

The ticket prices are grotesque and I am getting tired of Ticketmaster dominating the ticket sales market. They also use yield management tactics which push up ticket prices on popular nights. That doesn't apply here, but it really grates that this is unaffordable for many fans. That said, the organisers have obviously agreed to the pricing structure. Back in Birmingham in 1998, I think allocation of semi final tickets was by ballot.

ThreeRingCircus · 06/03/2023 12:27

I will be trying, yes. As a die hard Eurovision fan I have to at least try to get tickets for DH and I to go. We have a hotel booked so will be going regardless, even if we just go to the Eurovision village but it's been on my bucket list for more than 20 years.

Lovinmyblanket · 06/03/2023 19:36

Do you think they will put on any additional transport? I'm worrying about getting home after it (actual show or village!)

DrMadelineMaxwell · 07/03/2023 07:11

I don't know. Good question. I usually get the train park and ride into Liverpool.

No sign of ticket countdown yet on Ticketmaster!

Good luck to those who do want to try for tickets. I'm not hopeful but would love to be pleasantly surprised if I can get any.

Yes it will be a late finish, it would be a help for many if public transport ran a bit later. Haven't heard anything yet.

It's funny to me how town will be insanely busy with people from all over, yet there'll be so many people who won't give a toss (same for me with the races I suppose). Naively hoping taxis won't be too much of a problem!

Wrongsideofpennines · 07/03/2023 08:11

Absolutely desperate to go. And we're just about close enough to not need to stay over.

But my due date falls on semi final night 2. And although my husband assures me I won't have had the baby by then and we'll be fine to go I think it would be stupid to try it.

As excuses go, that's a good one!!

I have Ticketmaster up ready. We are trying to get a family show tickets for me and my daughter. I did provisionally book accommodation (before the prices went crazy) but have cancelled as we have family only an hour away we can stay with. My 6 year old loves Eurovision like me so it will be a bucket list thing for us!

The actual arena is only going to seat 11,000, so it’s only the same as any other gig and a lot less than many football matches. There’s crowds outside too, but they’ll be more likely to disperse gradually to pubs and bars I guess, in part at least?

I read there will only be 6000 tickets for each show too due to the broadcasting set up

DrMadelineMaxwell · 07/03/2023 11:11

WHY is the countdown counting down ti 1pm not 12pm.

I'm back in my classroom at 1 so no chance of me getting any!

It’s 1pm European time so don’t worry. Apparently.

PrancerandDancer · 07/03/2023 11:52

Ticket Master has crashed already!

Galadriel90 · 07/03/2023 12:02

I'm in the queue. 2000+ people ahead of me.

WeCome1 · 07/03/2023 12:04

We’re in two queues, 2000+ ahead of us in one, 1603 in the other, which has moved from 1744.
That’s for two family shows.

DrMadelineMaxwell · 07/03/2023 12:09

None for me. Only 240 in the queue when I got on but all except v expensive standing tickets sold out.

Oh well.

Oh no. What show was that for?

Galadriel90 · 07/03/2023 12:10

I'm sorry OP! I'm 1633 in the queue I don't think I have a hope in hell!

Twizbe · 07/03/2023 12:13

I'm 2000+ in the queue. Don't think I'll get anything good :(

I can't afford super expensive

CatJumperTwat · 07/03/2023 12:15

I would if it was in Glasgow. No desire to go to Liverpool. We'll have a Euro party at home!

WeCome1 · 07/03/2023 12:18

298 and 1152 now.

RedToothBrush · 07/03/2023 12:18

So far, the server errors and queue of doom...

Anyone actually got anything?
