How loyalty points rich are you?

So in the real world I'm skint all the time. But I have a habit of saving my points rather than frittering them:

Boots £44
Tesco £75
Waterstones £30 plus 7/10 stamps
Costa 7/8 beans - 1 more for a free drink
MacDonald enough points for a veggie deluxe

I've got about 60,000 amex points and no clue how to use them. Anyone got any tips?

Also Quidco and Topcashback, about £100 in each, plus approx 50p in clubcard points because I spend them the second I have enough for a meal out.

Then the bloody boots points. I have had such difficulty collecting them after they never sent a card and won't let you use the one on the app in person. Still managed to get about £5 which I now can't spend because I still don't have the card so have to spend them online which means delivery costs as much as I save. Almost convinced it's just a racket at this point.

You can use Amex points to pay off your bill, or change them for emirates miles, which you can exchange for flights on emirates and some other airlines, including easyjet. That’s easily a couple of European flights! Google the emirates scheme for more details!

@FunnyMunny I use the Boots app card in person all the time - they just scan it at the till?

I'm not sure what you are trying to say, I was talking about nectar points.
Obviously I know how to cash them in, the trick is trying to maximize the return.
Previously, I think you would have got 2 nectar points for every pound spent.
Now you get 1 point for every 2 pound spent, so the benefit has been cut to a quarter of what it was.
Removing the double up means it's worth 1/8 th of what it was previously worth.

I think I tagged you rather than the person you responded to, who said about the Boots points, sorry.

That switch is a bit rubbish though, in what you earn.

Nectar £57
Boots £205

burnoutbabe · 26/02/2023 23:07

I gave around £70 in nectar, we buy wine when they do double up offers. I should spend it on something else too but nothing is good value.

Tesco I use to buy annual railcard at 3 times value.

Boots £20, I use card often to collect points so they won't expire.

ginislife · 26/02/2023 23:20

£49.57 Nectar - I had no idea until I looked !
£54.11 TopCashback - I had no idea !!
£127.41 Nat west rewards. I knew about this one.
Have Tesco changed the process ? I give them my card every time I go in there but never receive any vouchers
I've got 12 Sparks offers.........
I've got co-op points
A Waitrose card - what do I earn on this ?
A Boots card - no idea but I lost my original one that had loads of points

Crumpledstilstkin · 27/02/2023 00:46

I was the boots points person. Unfortunately you need the physical card to set up the app 😭

Thank you for the amex tips, I'll need to have another look!

Download the Tesco app to see how many vouchers you have, you can then use it to turn them into rewards. I use it for pizza express, Disney+ and my railcard each year mainly.

If you haven't been spending them but use it a lot you will have loads (although they do expire so probably lost some too).

claracluck1978 · 27/02/2023 08:06

£58.50 Nectar - we save these over the year and spend them at Christmas - usually £250ish saved over the year
£73ish Boots - I've just purchased lots of Chanel makeup with points so this is the lowest it's been for years
Tesco - £3 but I shop in there v rarely
£24ish on Waterstones Card and just one stamp away from another £10
3 free Caffè Nero coffees
1 Costa freebie

I save the Boots and Waterstones points as treats just for me.

Oh sorry I misunderstood, that's so annoying. Can you start again with a different email?

I don't know about boots - I don't shop there that often.
Sainsbury's I use at self serve do they don't have a chance to mount up.
I've just spent £96 in Tesco vouchers to buy Avios air miles. Need another 60,000 miles to bump three of us from economy to premium for trip to States later this year (I've got almost 100k).

Lola001 · 27/02/2023 16:21

£11.42 boots I only started in the summer so really not that bad when I hardly buy anything from there.
£42 Asda
200 degrees coffee one free
Tim Hortons 2 hot 2 cold
Think that's it
