The Dublin mountains (from the top of the house)

CheeseDreamsTonight · 25/02/2023 22:19

Some local hills which had a promentary fort on hundreds of years ago.

Slimjimtobe · 25/02/2023 22:21

We have beautiful mountain views and scenery but the bird feeder is my nicest view (today I had blue tits and they were so pretty)

Unfortunately sheep, once they go down on their backs (it’s called being cast), they are unable to get themselves back up. If you see a sheep on its back with its legs in the air (or indeed on its side, the legs are a giveaway!) please roll them back up the right way, or let someone know if you’re aware of where/who the farm/farmer is. If they stay on their back, they can, and do, die. The sheep will be forever in your debt 🙌🏼

Great sheep intel. I had absolutely no idea sheep could get stuck like this. I shall be more vigilant when passing sheep and step in responsibly if required. Life skill gained. Thank you.

The village saxon church and the hills in the distance

userxx · 25/02/2023 22:32

@TellSomeoneElse How do they end up on their backs ? Do they spontaneously flip themselves over ? I like sheep.

Not a problem at all, thank you for asking! 🐑

Sort of I guess! Particularly this time of year as the sheep are heavily pregnant, they can overbalance and fall, which can lead to them becoming cast. Another issue of this time of year is that their fleece is at its fullest, or getting that way, and can become very heavy due to getting wet in this lovely damp weather, that can lead to issues with balance too.

userxx · 25/02/2023 22:44

@TellSomeoneElse Awww, bless them, I'll be extra vigilant when I next see them, I'll be ready to spring into action and roll it back. over.

BitOutOfPractice · 25/02/2023 22:48

I notice only people with lovely views have posted 😬

‘Mr. Crinkly’, our elderly bonkers neighbour, having a strip wash at the sink with the blinds open.

Don’t know whether to laugh or cry!

The daft things will certainly appreciate it 😊 can’t tell you how much we appreciate people taking on board and acting on this sort of information about livestock, so thank you.

I love how this thread is leading people to feel gratitude 💕

Kangaroos in the early mornings and evenings, most I’ve seen is 14 in the field next to our house.

I live in the middle suburbs of a capital city but we have an acre block and are adjacent to a council owned nature corridor.

A 14th century Church on top of a leafy hill. Unfortunately there's a 1960s built primary schools in the foreground 😆

CurlsandCurves · 25/02/2023 23:11

Kids playing out. Proper old school calling for each other and playing out on the street. And off onto neighbouring streets and parks too.

I’m so glad my kids had this when they were growing up.

CherrySocks · 25/02/2023 23:13

Birdfeeder, visited by blue tits, great tits, robins, sparrows, etc.
When in bloom, lilac bush with red rose bush intertwined.

Tumbleweed101 · 25/02/2023 23:25

Sunsets from March to October right from my bedroom window going down over the fields. Love it, so beautiful. My biggest fear is they will build new houses over those fields one day.

Cincinnatus · 25/02/2023 23:26

All the fields and the sheep.

MaidOfSteel · 25/02/2023 23:29

At the moment, sheep are grazing in the fields in front of & behind the house, and we have a lovely view over farmland to the hills.
In a few weeks, it'll change from sheep to dairy cows doing the grazing.
We absolutely love it here.

Streamside · 25/02/2023 23:38

I'm blessed to have an old church and duckpond in the next field and no visible neighbours in any direction.

LegArmpits · 25/02/2023 23:42

The sea, a fairground, an island (holm?) with a lighthouse ♥️

A beautiful mountain that dominates the town I live in ( not UK) . When the sun rises/sets it changes the colour of the mountain. It's incredible

that sounds heavenly
