Where do you buy your bras??

OK.

Bra shopping has reached desperate levels.

I hate shopping with a passion.

I'm a 34F/G depending on fit and my daughter is a 30D. We went bra shopping today and came home empty handed again.

Most places seems to cater for 32-40 AA-DD which doesn't cater for either of us.

What I am I missing??

I really don't want to spend a fortune on bras!

I usually end up in M&S but they only have a very limited supply outside of granny bras and minimisers.

I'm aware this is going to be because I'm missing something.

Bravissimo is great.

Chobbers · 21/02/2023 19:31

30F here.
I buy from Belle Lingerie on line. Good choice of brands and also good customer service.

Aldith · 21/02/2023 19:39

I used to buy from Debenhams before they closed physical shops but I can still get from them online. They do a range called DD+ and that goes up to an H cup and are usually between £22 and £30. They have a range of smaller cup sizes too but I’m not sure what the back sizes start at. I’m a 34 H so Debenhams has been a blessing for me.

I have the same problem! M&S measured me at 38c. Our local independent told me I was 36E. I need a new bra at the moment but I don’t know where to go.

PenguinLove1 · 21/02/2023 19:51

Bravissimo every time- if i try to buy a cheaper one from m&s, asda etc then they dont last, dont fit as well and i moan about them, so although it is dearer, i do find buying good quality ones makes all my clothes fit so much better which makes it worth it

BeeBB · 21/02/2023 19:54

I usually go to a specialist bra shop. Get measured properly and try on a bra I am
happy with.

Then once I know the make, size and model number etc. I look online and buy another couple if somewhere has a discount code or I will buy a last season model at a vastly reduced price. I really don’t rate M&S for underwear and to get my size the bras I have to buy are very expensive.

TheFTrain · 21/02/2023 19:54

I'm 32FF. I find M&S completely rubbish. John Lewis tend to have a decent selection. I tend to stick to 2 brands that John Lewis stock - Freya and Fantasie.

hmrcwoes · 21/02/2023 19:55

I order From playtex

poorbuthappy · 21/02/2023 20:03

Brastop more or less have the same as bravissimo but are a season behind. Like that matters 😂. Can get bargains on there

FannythePinkFlamingo · 21/02/2023 20:17

Independent lingerie shop to be measured properly, not the M&S method. Buy a bra or two from there then search BraStop or eBay for last year's colour in the bra that I know fits. I still buy from the independent shop as they know their norks, but I can save a bit by shopping around too. I'm a 36H.

2023istheyearigetmyacttogether · 21/02/2023 20:22

Having worn Bravissimo for years, I happened to walk down the bra aisle in Asda during lockdown 1, thought a bra looked about the right shape & am now a complete convert to their bras. It's a bit of a surprise to be honest! All of my bras since then have come from there.

FavouriteSlippers · 21/02/2023 20:23

Marks and Spencer.
Always have no other shops fit me like theirs

whatthebejesus · 21/02/2023 20:26

HH cup here. I feel your pain.
I use bravissimo or figleaves

BobbinThreadbare123 · 21/02/2023 20:30

Brastop
Pour Moi - they took on Figleaves, as did Simply Be
Curvy Kate
I don't rate M&S or Bravissimo. I'm a 30H.

I can't find Bravissimo's own bras there though, do they not sell them? Their own brand are the only ones I like.

RampantIvy · 21/02/2023 20:32

@GreyCarpet can you get to a larger M and S?
We have a huge one at Meadowhall (Sheffield) and they have a really wide range of bras in pretty much every size. They stock other brands, not just their own. Apart from their woefully inadequate fitting service I think their choice is excellent.

justaphasejustaphase · 21/02/2023 20:33

No1 Bra online. Amazing bras. I'm a 34 FF and they are so comfortable

RampantIvy · 21/02/2023 20:35

We also have a brilliant independent lingerie shop but the bras are ££££.
I buy Wacoal bras. They are perfect for me.

Stressybetty · 21/02/2023 20:38

Bravissimo and just bought one from Boobydoo. Not near a bravissimo store so always shop online.

Bagpuss16 · 21/02/2023 20:38

I'm also a 34F and I recently bought this exact bra - it is so flattering on and (even more impressive) it's really comfortable!!! I am definitely going to be going back soon to stock up in different colours, it's an absolute bargain too!

Poshjock · 21/02/2023 20:40

thehappyhaggis · 21/02/2023 18:30

I second bravissimo! I'd love to be able to buy cheap bras but with my big chest I realise I need to fork out to minimise discomfort and maximise support!

Having said that, I usually get fitted at bravissimo and buy one or 2 then check out the brands on eBay. I'll then buy last season etc for cheaper. Obv size changes depending on style / brand so need to make adjustments around that.

This.

I love Bravissimo. They literally changed my life - finally putting me in a bra that fitted properly and helped sort out back and shoulder pain. I know their bras are expensive but the fitting service means that I know I am in a bra that works for me. As PP said, I buy a few a year and shop for those ones I like on Ebay; brastop; etc to pick up sales and clearance of last seasons styles and colourways.

inappropriateraspberry · 21/02/2023 20:41

Amazon. Seem to find the odd bra for around £10. Probably old stock, but good brands. I'm a 30FF/G so find it really hard.
I wish the supermarkets would cater for smaller sizes. I remember Asda had a range with Katie Price years ago. They had smaller back sizes so it is possible!

Whenasuitcasejustwontdo · 21/02/2023 20:42

I find boux avenue bras very comfortable, much more than bravissimo. Some of the styles are quite lacy but others are perfect for everyday.

Yarrawonga · 21/02/2023 20:47

30 inch bands seem to be aimed more at first bras

I’m a 28 and get mine in Bravissimo. They definitely aren’t first bras.
