Has come out to say her long term relationship is over and it very much looks like he had a wandering eye and she found out.

She posted a video on Instagram and has done an interview to say once the trust is gone it has to be over.

I really like her, I think she's smart and funny and do feel sorry for her. She has dealt with it really well though. It's easy to say LTB but when it comes down to it that can be hard to do, especially when you've been together a long time.

Really hoping she finds happiness in the future!

She has a First from Cambridge. I can't understand why he didn't bore her shitless? She's super smart, sassy and very striking looking. I love her.

Really sorry to hear this, I have a lot of time for Vanessa. She's a rare "celebrity" or columnist who seems to only ever have nice things to say about people, I can't remember ever reading her being unkind about anyone. He didnt deserve her.

Vanessa is fantastic, I've always wondered of she'll write a book/her autobiography she's so witty and sharp. His massive loss, I'm glad she got shot of him.

What I love about Vanessa is, unlike a lot of female celebs, she never dumbs down but instead, she wears her intellect like a piece of fabulous jewellery.

I’ve genuinely learned so many new words from listening to her over the years.

I really hope she feels the love out there for her.

He'll go on to date someone younger than him, with less imposing intellect. But he'll always be missing something and feeling dissatisfied. I doubt he'll ever be settled with anyone as long as he was with V.

After a few years, maybe more.. I suspect he'll look back with regret.

Hopefully next time V will find a forever till death love, third time lucky.

I love Vanessa.
She deserves a man who is her intellectual equal and loves her for the magnificent woman she is!

They were together for 16 or 17 years. If they weren't intellectually equal, then she must have been with him for the sex (as a pp mentioned her constantly talking about it) or else they were pretty much equally yoked.

I hope she finds healing and new happiness, as I'm sure they were happy and "in love" (whatever that means, to quote Di) at the time.

Vanessa is on This Morning now. It looks like she had no choice in coming out and announcing the split as it was going to come out in the media anyway.

She's obviously coming across like the lovely person she is, with her heart on her sleeve.

@spagettinoodlebrain basically that she's devastated and humiliated but has had a lot of support. She tried to keep it private for as long as she could but it was going to come out so she made the decision to come out with it first.

She did also say as much as she feels humiliated you should never feel ashamed for having trusted your partner.

It didn't seem like she was keen on getting into the details of what he actually did but she said it was a mix of gradual and sudden..

She's very brave and dignified to speak even though it's clearly painful and raw. Hope those feelings of humiliation go soon. I've been there and I get it, you feel like you've been made a fool of :(
I tune in to talk tv and noticed there are lots of soundsbite advertisements for Vanessa's show the last couple of days, don't think it is a coincident.

I get the feeling from her interview on This Morning that she does not want to get into specifics. Quite right, as all it does is give publicity to him which he seems to thrive on.

I expect he’ll turn up on Celebs Go Dating quite soon.

It’s funny, I never liked her much when she was in the public eye a lot a few years back but recently I’m looking at her and thinking, I’d love to go out for a few drinks with you! I bet she’d be fantastic fun.

He latched on to her because she was known and she was relatively rich. He was a user and was certainly not with her for her looks etc. I’m amazed he stayed for so long.
