And if so how long have you been married? Will you ever replace them or take them down?

OP posts:
SunsetStrip · 05/02/2023 07:07

Never had one up, married 18 years.

AuntieMarys · 05/02/2023 07:12

Yes....we married 6 years ago in NYC. No one else there so photos are spontaneous, non traditional and fun! They are displayed in an old hymn board

Reinventinganna · 05/02/2023 07:13

We’ve never had any on the wall but have an album.

We have two wedding photos up in different rooms, alongside photos of the kids etc. Married 19 years.

Notplayingball · 05/02/2023 07:18

16 years married. Two photos recently just put up in dresser as I have been tidying up and reorganising dresser/sideboards around the home recently.

Rodentsrock · 05/02/2023 08:14

We have a smallish on (confetti shot outside the church) and one of us at the top table, medium size. I wouldn't take those down.

Smallorangecat · 05/02/2023 08:29

I have 1 on the wall, been married 15 years, DH died in 2021. Last year I found the album that no one had looked at since we got it and showed DC to see if they could recognise the people in it.

Maskedpotato · 05/02/2023 08:33

We have the two we have always had up. I can't imagine taking them down. Married 24 years.

autumnboys · 05/02/2023 08:36

Yes, there’s a framed formal picture in the lounge and a shot of us both laughing on the kitchen pinboard. 23 years.

redspottedmug · 05/02/2023 08:40

20 years here. We have a small candid photo (6x4) in a beautiful frame picked up on honeymoon. No official photos were taken.

FindingMeno · 05/02/2023 08:42

We didn't have any up, by didn't have a photographer anyhow.

YouveCatToBeKittenMe · 05/02/2023 08:49

No, we took the massive one down when we last decorated
i do have a framed needle point certificate that my mum made thou, we moved the wedding date at the last minute because she was so ill but she still unpicked and redid the date so it was correct. She died 6 weeks later so it’s very special. 31 years this year.

I have 2 standard size ones, 1 in the living room 1 in our bedroom. Been married 31 years.

MaverickGooseGoose · 04/02/2023 21:25

One on the mantle in our bedroom, married 16 years.

The ridiculously overpriced album is under the bed and hasn't been looked at in 16 years.

Same for the album. I do put a 4×6 size in a frame occasionally but I tend not to like photos on walls. I like arty non personal things instead. Married 12 years. I didn't like any of my wedding pics because I was pregnant and didn't look like me. DH isn't bothered in the slightest, he hates ornaments/frames and I think he would live in a cave if he could.

Iwantabloodypizza · 05/02/2023 09:05

No.

But it was a shit day that I don’t want reminding of. I didn’t want any photos, had a taxi booked to just go straight from the reg office but MIL threw a strop so we all had to stand outside it while my friend took photos.

To make dh mum happy, I had to wear heels which I walked in like fucking bambi, wear a dress that I didn’t want to and have all dh friends there. I looked uncountable and awful.

I just look miserable. She videod the shit meal in the back of a shit pub reception too but 13 years later, we’ve never watched it.

Iwantabloodypizza · 05/02/2023 09:06

*uncomfortable

Tyrannicalthreeyearold · 05/02/2023 09:13

Sorry for your loss @Smallorangecat 💐

vestanesta · 05/02/2023 09:13

We have 3 up - one medium one of me and him and one with me whacking my brother with my flowers which is a small one (he's passed away and we were close so I love it). The third is dh with his siblings all dressed up. Only shot of the 4 of them we have.

So of the 3, 2 are at our wedding but up for other reasons. Been married 20 years.

My mum still has hers up and she'd have been married 53 years this year.

StillWantingADog · 05/02/2023 09:15

We have some modest ones up, married 12 years can’t see me actively taking them down!

Oakbeam · 05/02/2023 10:08

We have one. It was a present from a sibling and actually a collection of several photos in one frame. We didn’t use a professional photographer for budget reasons.

The reason it is on show is because I like seeing it. It was a good day. 14 years.

Roominmyhouse · 05/02/2023 10:13

We've been married 12 years this year and have a multi frame of family pictures up and a couple of just the two of us. I can't imagine taking them down. My parents have been married 48 years and still have a picture from their wedding up.

PrincessOfWaiIs · 05/02/2023 11:16

Yes, 20 years next year. Me and DH were (still are, a bit!) goths and I love how we looked - I wore a forest green satin embroidered dress and DH wore eyeliner and a skinny pinstripe suit.

He proposed after five days and is 12 years younger than me. People said we wouldn't last but here we are, two decades on, more in love than ever.

handsoffate · 05/02/2023 11:45

That sounds great, @PrincessOfWaiIs
Another goth/industrial couple here. Dh wore all black and I had a dark red-verging on black dress. No photos displayed though!

skimpychipswithsauce · 05/02/2023 15:08

We have never had a picture up 🤣🤣 married 19 years ! I hate pictures of me in the house lol

Hbh17 · 05/02/2023 15:12

Only ever had one, I think, on landing wall. Been there nearly 33 years tho!
