And if so how long have you been married? Will you ever replace them or take them down?

OP posts:
JaneJeffer · 04/02/2023 21:38

I never had them up

ginslinger · 04/02/2023 21:39

married 30 odd years and have a small photo on a shelf

Toosensitiv · 04/02/2023 21:44

10 yrs - we have 2 seperate frames. One has 4 photos in it (normal size) and one medium sized picture.

The frames were wedding gifts. Never thought about it to be honest. Doubt we'll take them down. I like to look at them and get all nostalgic......about the waistline I used to have and will never see again! Haha.

Had a massive one up when we first got married but we moved house a year later & never put any up & the big picture remains in the loft to this day.
For our 25th anniversary we got a 'then & now' frame so I've got a small picture on display again.
Lots of people have at least one on display, great to see how fashions have changed etc.

FluffMagnet · 04/02/2023 21:45

Several. 7 years. My parents have a couple of them up, and it will be their 40th anniversary this year.

EarthPunchingBack · 04/02/2023 21:45

Yes - 25 years. Won’t take them down. Only 2 fairly small ones 😊.

clary · 04/02/2023 21:47

I have one of the two of us on my dressing table in a small frame, and there is one of just me close up on the wall in the hall. I don't like it (ridiculous hair, too much slap, weird veil tho the flowers look nice) but ppl sometimes admire it.

Married 25 years this year omg

CMOTDibbler · 04/02/2023 21:47

1 in our bedroom, married 25 years. We don't have any photos up in public bits of our house tbh

Ohifyouinsist · 04/02/2023 21:48

None, we never had any on display. Thinking about it, I don't know anyone who has any wedding photos out.

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 04/02/2023 21:50

I've been married 18 months and haven't even got round to printing any never mind framing them 🙈

Tittyfilarious81 · 04/02/2023 21:51

Yes ,married for 18 years 😊

HeadNorth · 04/02/2023 21:52

We’ve never had a wedding photo up - been married 30 years.

HildasLostSock · 04/02/2023 21:56

My parents have been married for 52 years, they still have theirs up. I quite like it. As an aside when I was planning my wedding, my mum said that I shouldn't wear a veil, she didn't. I said yes you did, no I didn't says mum. Back & forth a few times until mum says how do you know, you weren't there! I pointed to the photo on the wall behind her 😂

PandaG · 04/02/2023 21:57

Yes, one candid photo a friend printed and had mounted and framed for us - A4 ish picture in A3 frame. 30 years this summer. I tend to look at the wedding album on or around our anniversary.

Todaynotalways · 04/02/2023 21:58

Yes, we have two of the office ones, both in black and white. One on a bookshelf in the living room, and one in the downstairs hall. Married 12 years, together 14.

Knoblauch · 04/02/2023 21:59

2 in the bedroom, in very large very ugly frames that I regret buying everyday. I'll probably replace them with something smaller one day. And one small one stuck to the fridge with a magnet. Married 8 years.

EasilyDirected · 04/02/2023 21:59

We've just got a small one of the two of us, 5x7", on a shelf with a few other framed family photos. IIRC it was taken by one of the guests not the photographer. Our albums have been in the loft since we moved house a year after getting married, which was 20+ years ago. Really ought to get them down to show the DCs one of these days. I've never noticed anything more than a small similar one in other married friend's houses.

Keepyourmummysboys · 04/02/2023 22:00

Yes, one of may on fireplace, married 26 years

Knickerthief1 · 04/02/2023 22:01

No! Married twenty years and never really had one up that I can recall! Have had photos of the kids, and family photos instead.

AnonNameChange45 · 04/02/2023 22:02

Have never displayed any wedding photos. We had a little mini album made, which I flick through when I come across it...it lives on a bookcase with kids stuff and random leaflets and stuff. Been married 15 years this summer.

Honeyroar · 04/02/2023 22:02

Yes but they’re in our bedroom, so nobody but us really sees them.

ritarita · 04/02/2023 22:04

i wanted to keep them up but my kids say its weird to keep a picture of me and hubby up despite the restraining order Hmm

RosesAndHellebores · 04/02/2023 22:05

Yes one of dh and one of me at each end of the mantelpiece - A5 size in silver frames. One of us together in the sitting room. 32 years. Reminds us of when I was thin and DH had more hair.

BridieConvert · 04/02/2023 22:06

We had a big ish photo of the two of us on display in our old house but since moving haven't got round to putting it up yet (can't decide where to put it!) we have a couple of small photos up but photos of the kids have taken over now!

I do have my bouquet preserved in a frame though that'll always be on the wall ☺️

We've been married nearly 6 years so still recent!

Baconand · 04/02/2023 22:06

Yes a few, there’s 3 small one’s downstairs in different rooms and two upstairs- married 10 years. I absolutely adore my wedding photos. We eloped but had an amazing photographer and it’s the only time I have ever liked photos of me.

My parents didn’t ever have photos on display of their wedding and I only realised as a teen that it was because they had both been married before and my mum was very pregnant when she married my dad. This was the 70’s and frowned upon still I guess.
