I know this sort of thing has been done many times, but... I'm in the market for a house, not a bichon frise!

I really love the ones where they do a close-up of a running tap. I've seen this multiple times and I can never understand why.

To demonstrate that there's running water??? Grin
My personal favourite was the picnic on the corner of sunshine in the garden!

LuluBlakey1 · 01/02/2023 18:17

It's a nice enough small house. Can't believe they sell for that price!

CockSpadget · 01/02/2023 18:17

Justleaveitblankthen · 01/02/2023 17:53

How bloody much?🤯
Don't mind me, I'm from up north

I know right!! 600k for a chuffing semi detached. Christ on a bike!

Jemimapuddleduk · 01/02/2023 18:07

£600k, I am shocked

It’s the same size as the house I bought last year for £172k. Maybe a little smaller and more
overlooked.

I live in a shithole though and my next door neighbour is a drug dealer, so I shouldn’t brag 😂

Is it advanced warning that the house smells of dog...? Not really a sales point though...

I thought the same thing! Dog pictures definitely would put me off

Ha ha! I had the opposite reaction - it looks like a bargain given where it is and the school catchment area/proximity to the station.

Wheretheskyisblue · 01/02/2023 18:23

Every house sold by this agent has the same accessories - including the same tray with pastries and a vase of flowers on the bed. I guess the agent brings along a box with knick nacks for the photos.

quietnightmare · 01/02/2023 18:24

The merry berry book is the icing for me.

MsFogi · 01/02/2023 18:30

Damn you MN - now I am trawling through the agent's other listings looking for the same 'props' in the photos!!

Exactly this. I'd definitely need the dog, the cabbage and the tin of Bisto on the window sill to be included for that price.

JooftheNorth · 01/02/2023 18:33

I can't stand the close up shots. I like things to be relevant. A close up of a kids dinosaur toy? Are you kidding me?

The wellies lined up outside. If that was my house the wellies would be stolen before the picture was taken.

And the dog? I've seen them before on Rightmove there by accident, one minute dog is on the sofa, then it's hiding in a corner which is kinda funny but on purpose? Lol.

Also a convenient 150m or so as the crow flies from the dump refuse and recyling centre

Aleaiactaest · 01/02/2023 18:40

That house sold for 277k in 2009. How can it now be 600k?

mrshenny · 01/02/2023 18:41

Recent sold prices, same street, 3 bed semi detached. Not drastically different condition sold for £435k ish in 2019. Crazy!

I really want to look at the other listings for this agent but can't figure out how! Anyone got a link?

RabbitHoleOfHell · 01/02/2023 18:43

from your thread title, I thought you meant the sort of arty photos on property sites like Inigo, tbf a lot of their properties seem to be owned by creative people (eg in fashion/interiors/artists & architects). I wasn’t expecting a fluffy white dog and a child’s artwork! I suspect they’re trying to highlight their house’s family friendly attributes with a bit of “lifestyle selling”, but no, don’t get it.

ZenNudist · 01/02/2023 18:44

Does anyone else get put off a place by wanky photos? If they can't actually show the place then I assume it's tiny or a hovel. Like they have something to hide.

I feel similar about viewing holiday lets. Close up of a flower or an artfully rolled towel tell me nothing useful. I'd rather see if there is a washing machine in a bathroom (don't like this btw) the bed layouts etc.

BadGranny · 01/02/2023 18:47

And on a normal day it looks more like this.

It’s The Modern House ordered on Wish.

That apple is browning! The aspirational Bisto tub!

roarfeckingroarr · 01/02/2023 18:51

I know not the point you're making but that seems expensive for Bromley.

TwoLeftSocksWithHoles · 01/02/2023 18:51

I think I've seen that Estate Agent's advertising boards, isn't it Twatt, Dix and Tosser?

No, no, no. Don’t spoil it. If you buy that house your impossibly handsome and caring husband and your adorable twin son and daughter will bring you a lovely cup of tea and a single peony in a vase every morning. It’s the truth.

Walterwhiteswifey · 01/02/2023 18:56

This is like a naff hotel's website pics. The slippers on the bathroom floor in particular were just laughable. So cringe.

MissPoldark · 01/02/2023 19:10

the photos look more like the owner is advertising a holiday home rather than a house for sale.

IMO the towel and cookbook in the kitchen just looks a bit of a mess.
what’s with the plates on the dining table? They’re empty with knives & forks placed on them as though someone hasn’t cleared up after themselves.

Someone’s having tea in the bedroom, lunch in the dining room and a picnic in the garden all at the same time !

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 01/02/2023 17:56

Is that Savoy cabbage in the fruit bowl?

Aspirational FANCY cabbage, none of your plain cabbage shite.

NeverTrustAPoliceman · 01/02/2023 19:49

I wold never buy a house which had a dog in it. The expense of cleaning it, and replacing all the carpets before you moved in wouldn't be worth the effort.

So the photo of the white mutt would mean I wouldn't scroll any further.
