Will it be a Royal story? Harry at the Coronation?

Or something about Zahawi and taxes

It bloody better not be the IMF that was embargoed considering that it was on BBC world radio way before 1:30am… and apparently the Daily Mail.

I feel very mugged off 🙈

PleaseCleanTheWholeToilet · 31/01/2023 02:07

What do you have to say for yourself @cakeorwine ?
You kept everyone awake, buggered off to bed and there was no big news 😂😂😂😂

WeBuiltThisBuffetOnSausageRoll · 31/01/2023 01:58

Right so the headline news is that the tories have screwed us over by increasing taxes and they should have gone for growth?

So Kwasi was right all along, then?!

Appears so 😭

#TomorrowsPapersToday on Twitter still isn’t showing Tuesday’s Guardian front page, only the Telegraph, so maybe there’s still something interesting to come.

I didn't do it.

Just had confirmation from a reliable source. Mr Sturgeon is in the planning stages of his wedding to a hot husband. Divorce will obviously need to happen first though.

Teaandtoast3 · 31/01/2023 02:20

Yes you did @TheEmbargoedHedgehog. You got everyone all hot and flustered… and then let us down 😿

Siepie · 31/01/2023 02:23

BBC is now showing the Guardian's with the IMF report. No idea why two newspapers embargoed it when other news didn't.

Teaandtoast3 · 31/01/2023 02:25

Doesn’t make much sense @Siepie

No. Kamakwazi economics did not promote growth. We are suffering it's effects on top of the fallout from other Tory bright ideasHmm so much that the country doesn't work, the economy is shrinking and the UK is doing worst out of all the developed and emerging national economies.

We are a G7 nation. We won't be for much longer!

The guess is that the IMF story isn't the one they intended to run, the one that was embargoed.

Something's happened to delay their original story, possibly legal action, so they've had to run with the IMF instead.

WeBuiltThisBuffetOnSausageRoll · 31/01/2023 02:31

What an anticlimax. Couldn't they just have run with the JRM story, even if it happened not to be verified as true?!

My only fault tonight is being super cute and flea ridden.

Where's my cat food?

Teaandtoast3 · 31/01/2023 02:36

Rees-Moggy might be able to help you… but I wouldn’t trust him. He’s probably put it somewhere questionable.

Hmm interesting. Had to read it at least 6 times because by now I'm way too tired. But she says 'academics'? And she is a science correspondent, so is this somehow Covid related? Or some other 'hot' science topic (climate change related)? That's all my brain can come up with at this hour.

Academic here, working on something that is embargoed at the moment. It's really common in at least my area of academic world for research to be embargoed until it's presented. If the journalist wants other academics to comment on something and isn't getting anything back, it could be the other academics want to wait for the results to be presented/published before commenting. Or they may not want to speak to the journalist.

kateandme · 31/01/2023 04:18

andrew is not getting his money back and actually he is a pervert

Too much use of the word academic for my liking.

Your grammar isn't up to much either.

Neither is mine, however for a hedgehog, I find myself fair to middling.

I don't big myself up to porcupine.

Zonder · 31/01/2023 04:31

So it was about the lack of economic growth? But I'm sure that was talked about on the 10 o'clock news so not much of an embargo.

Trez1510 · 31/01/2023 04:39

It might be a massive medical breakthrough? The delay will allow the Tories, their familes and cronies the opportunity to buy 'lucrative' shares before going public.

Either that, or my previous suggestion, Johnson being divorced for adultery, stealing, lying, cheating and generally being an embarrassing, unfunny, repulsive buffoon.

GoTeamRocket · 31/01/2023 05:06

I reckon it is political. Sunak and Johnson and their supporters keep briefing against each other. What ever it was, it will come out one way or another.
