Actors who seem to play themselves in movies?

Are there any actors who always seem to play themselves in movies? I don't necessarily mean that they aren't talented just that for one reason or another its hard to disassociate the actor from the role?

I have a hard time seeing George Clooney as anyone besides GC.

Hugh Grant was my first thought, although he has got less typecast in more recent work. Eg An English Scandel.

Tim Key (doesn’t stop my huge crush on him).

This is why stars are stars though. We want them to be the same in everything. Character actors aren't stars.

Ryan Reynolds (who I love) only seems to have one character.

Came here to literally say this.

A grumpy bastard IRL too, judging by everything that I've read about him.

Jennifer Coolidge. Plays similar characters and seems just like them in interviews

I can confirm she's exactly the same in rl!

Meryl Streep

I understand what you mean but personally speaking I don't want actors to be the same in everything though, personally speaking. I'd sooner watch a good character actor anyway. Although some big stars are very talented.

Excuse the extra "personally speaking".

He was brilliant in The Gentlemen but I think Guy Richie can make anyone brilliant (apart from Madonna)
