Is it possible to take after a grandparent?

I know you inherit your genes from your parents of course. But how much if your personality / genetic make up comes from your grandparents?

I ask because my grandad had a rather distinct personality and I'm very like him in a lot of ways so it made me wonder

I'm very similar in personality to my paternal grandfather (absent minded professor type) and lucky DS1 appears to have inherited his brains/scientific aptitude.

My brother as a child looks like exactly like my mum's brother as a child...you can pretty much only tell them apart on photos by looking at the background/clothes.

Yes it is I find genetics fascinating.
My DS2 is exactly like his Grannys brother in build, personally and " quirks"... He eats so incredibly fast, which is what his Grannys brother did
DS1 and 3 are my doubles in build and facial features and colouring
Nothing of ex DH at all( which secretly pleases me)
