I can tell that I'm in the teeniest of minorities here, but I actually like the NYE cheese. I can't help wondering if some people like it as their tradition to moan about NYE telly and wouldn't be happy with whatever is on - but then, that's the beauty of the internet, multiple streaming services and countless other available activities.
Dh will watch the Hogmanay garbage later its all sentimental twaddle that I can't stand. but sit through
It isn't so much now, though. I used to love that 'sentimental twaddle', but then they dumped it last year (or was it the year before?); got rid of Phil & Aly and Jackie Bird and replaced it with generic pop music - just whatever latest songs the trendy artists have in the charts. We always used to watch Hogmanay on BBC Scotland (we're in the English Midlands), but they've ruined it now.
Having said that, we'd have been torn this year if they had kept the good old Hogmanay stuff, what with Sam Ryder and the Eurovision party on BBC1 England!
After the endless boring football we've had on TV, cancelling and moving all the other programmes around, it's about time for a turn for those of us who just like a cheesy sense of occasion with music to match!
