We're going to my best friends for dinner, drinks snd a film.. same as we do every year, although usually they come to us.

That's about as energetic as it gets for us! Will probably stay up to watch the fireworks on tv and them call it a night.

Anyone still do a 'big' night out on NYE? I haven't for well over 20 years.

DH and I are in the grounds of a castle in Scotland in our campervan. We have a firepit, fairy lights and a magnum of prosecco.

Just hoping it doesn't snow! ❄️

Going up a big hill with best friend and whichever of our (teen/adult) kids will come with us. Not sure which hill as we have a few to choose from but they all have cracking views and we will watch an entire county's fireworks at midnight. We even have a choice of 4 counties to spectate depending on which hill we choose.
Not been able to do it since 2020 due to covid and weather so am really looking forward to it.

We were supposed to be going out for dinner just the three of us then on to a friends for some drinks to ring in the new year. But I've had a horrible sore throat for the last couple of days so if it hasn't cleared up tomorrow then we'll just stay in, cook something like lasagna or curry and have a few drinks while trying to keep our 8 year old up until midnight. I always suffer with tonsillitis in the winter, I don't think this is catching as all my family are fine, but one of my friends has covid vulnerabilities so I wouldn't want to risk making her sick tomorrow night and spoiling her new year. Not that bothered about NYE anyway, quite happy to just go to bed feeling sick with a good book, but our son is desperate to see in the New Year for the first time so we will try and make an effort for him if we don't go out.

This sound really boring but I'm excited about it as I've lived in a shit heap for so long! Well, after 4 days hard labour I'm on track for getting my house totally cleaned and tidied (every room) before midnight on new years eve. Im going to try and be done by 5pm. My young teen wants to watch a film, eat popcorn and do his fondue set (😆), beat me at a game, go on xbox for an hour then come down to see midnight in with me. I'm going to enjoy for the first time in my life a totally tidy house, chat to a few friends, have a sneaky smoke and 3/4 glasses of prosecco and go to bed completely content for the first time in maybe 10 years.

simple but I cant wait

Sofa, film, snacks..had a mastectomy today and got home at 730 this evening, so that's as rocking as it'll get here tomorrow evening 😁

Bloody hell @Chocolateismyfavourite, how are you doing today? Sorry to read this.... hope you manage to enjoy some feet up time tonight and the pain is manageable.

No plans. DH and DD have requested Lasagna for tea, and vienetta for pudding so a fairly normal Saturday for us.

We might stay up until midnight, but generally we are in bed way before then.

Thank you! Yes I'm feeling surprisingly well 🙂 bit tired and achy in my arm pit, but fine otherwise. Pain level good, I'm only to take paracetamol, because that's what they gave me🤣 nothing stronger wich was a surprise too. I am very happy to have had the procedure, because the cancer is gone now.

Well, that is good news @Chocolateismyfavourite, fingers crossed you recover quickly and 2023 is kind to you.

We’re going to a party at our village hall. It sounds a bit twee but we actually have the most mental parties and a huge group of friends there. I can’t wait 😃!

Thanks everyone 🙂 x
