I know this is really boring but PLEASE can anyone recommend foolproof clingfilm. I’ve just spent another battle wrapping up Christmas leftovers I want to throw it out the window it gives me such a rage! I’ve tried so many brands - Tescos, Sainsburys, B&M, Aldi etc. Don’t mind the cost as I’m wasting so much. This would really make my day sad as that sounds😟

I buy the catering rolls from Costco. So much better than other supermarket rolls.

iliketartan · 29/12/2022 14:16

All clingfilm is a bastard it's just it's MO - a bit like cats.

Greydogs123 · 29/12/2022 14:29

Just don’t use the stuff. Get some silicone bowl covers and various sizes of storage boxes. I’ve not used cling film in years now. Tin foil if I really need to wrap something up.

marmaladepop · 29/12/2022 14:30

Lakeland perforated cling film

Cherryblossoms85 · 29/12/2022 14:31

Yeah, they're nearly all shit. I now shell out for Bacofoil, means I waste a lot less.

purplecorkheart · 29/12/2022 14:32

Do you push out the tabs in the box?

motleymop · 29/12/2022 14:32

The only way forward is the Bacofoil Easycut Cling Film Dispenser. Hard to get hold of refills in the shops but can buy them on Amazon

JudgementalCentipede · 29/12/2022 14:33

Bacofoil Easy Cut, the one in the white plastic box with pink label that you just get refills for. I've only recently had to buy another as my last one broke after 7 years of use!

SoupDragon · 29/12/2022 14:33

I use Tupperware boxes instead.

Cling film is the work of the devil for so many reasons.

Amazing I agree.

TinselSniffer · 29/12/2022 14:34

Clingfilm doesn't even cling in my experience, never mind trying to rip the bastard in a straight line. I use foil or reuseable plastic boxes.

Clymene · 29/12/2022 14:35

Glad Press and Seal is really good but it's not cheap

Getamoveon36 · 29/12/2022 14:43

Lakeland in dispenser, quick tap on lid to cut, and release. Keep going back to this, by far the best I’ve found.

AND LITERALLY LOOKED THIS UP ONLINE NOW TO LINK AND DISCOVERED ITS DISCONTINUED. 😭😭😭😭

another one here for Costco, I never want to use any other again.

SleekMamma · 29/12/2022 14:53

Dunelm cling film only clings when it needs to. Game changer

Yarisalpaca · 29/12/2022 15:29

Just looked on Lakeland and it is not discontinued. Is in stock which is a relief as I have run out :)

This. Came to say this when I saw the thread title. It's the best

WhiteFire · 29/12/2022 15:52

My bacofoil easy cut is rubbish, it doesn't pull out properly and l end up with it getting narrower and I have to try to unravel a load at one end.

@Yarisalpaca real;y? Can only see the wrap master refill not the one which comes in its dispenser? If you have a link that would be amazing!

Thank you all for the suggestions. I’ll try Costco or Dunelm first I think. The silicone covers sound good too for storage in the fridge.

If you must use cling film then yes to this

We now use reusable stuff or cheap bags on a roll

Theheartmustpausetobreathe · 29/12/2022 21:32

Keeping the cling film roll in the fridge really helps .Try it .

imalreadygone · 29/12/2022 21:34

OH this thread is amazing. I've just thrown out yet another tube in rage as it became a ridiculous state.

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 29/12/2022 21:34

Keep it in the freezer. Seriously, it makes it SO much more manageable

Does it still cling?
