Can I exchange this in Next?

Dd got a couple of items of clothing from a family member which are the wrong size/not something she would wear (size is far too small so noting she can grow in to).

They were probably bought online but can’t be sure. Tags still on them.

No gift receipt and we can’t ask family member to exchange. They have form for this, we asked once if they could exchange for the right size and christ, the fallout was massive, they didn’t speak to dh for three months.

Nearest next is a 45 min bus ride away, so I thought I would ask here first.

@boboshmobo i remember reading the e-mail saying we have x item as a return…I was wearing the item lol.

I know this is an old thread, but does anyone know if the person who bought the item from Next gets a notification if you exchange their unwanted gift? I know if you return an item bought online, the buyer gets an email and it goes back on their account. But what about if it's an exchange?

@HappyHaribo no not if you just exchange it but if bought on their account and it gets returned to their account then they will .

How would they possibly know, if you went into store to exchange it? They aren't there with you, and you aren't logged into their account?

The item isn't marked as being sold to 'Bob's next account'. It's just an item of clothing with the tag on.

I know when you return something, the items tag automatically brings up the buyers online account and they get a notification it's been returned and money back on their account. I wasn't sure if the same happened with a swap.

@Princesspollyyy that's where you are completely wrong.

We have very clever systems and each barcode is unique and connected to your sale so we know how and when you bought it .. it's automatically goes back to your credit account if bought on it .
