London appointment on 3rd Jan - no trains. No way round it?

We have been waiting for this appointment for about 6 years.
It's a huge huge, life changing, potentially life saving appointment and I've just seen there is train strikes on that day.

Im trying to figure out coaches or buses but and I'm searching and Googling but getting no answers.

Can anyone help? It's Brighton to London waterloo, or specifically St Thomas hospital.

Are there coach replacements or is that not ok because that's usually provided by the rail isn't it?
I can't believe our bloody luck

The coaches go in to Victoria Coach Station, you might struggle to get across London. For something so important I’d stay the night before near the hospital and get a coach back.

It's 10mins in a taxi or there are loads of buses. London will be quiet - loads of people are wfh because of the train strikes.

OP you're not answering people about the coaches, there are tickets available, whats the problem?

OP your post makes no sense at all. Seats are available on National Express’s website. Dep Brighton 0535, returning same evening for £30. What’s the problem?

www.nationalexpress.com/en

I was using this.
How did you get your information? Because when I used that it said it had nothing

Just get a coach - there's loads of availability? Not getting the issue here tbh. Buses or Uber will get you from
Victoria to Waterloo easy enough. Confused

MulledWineAndMingePies · 27/12/2022 11:50

Departure where in Brighton?

thanks for your help. Not so much for the spikey "what's the problem" bit though?

Drive or find someone who can drive you.

The coach station. And then put London Victoria in at the other end. Loads of spaces.

givethistokevin · 27/12/2022 11:53

@MulledWineAndMingePies

I used the link you posted and saw availability

CorporateBull · 27/12/2022 11:54

OP, just use the National Express website and put ‘Brighton’ in for departure and ‘London’ for the arrival.

RuppyDa · 27/12/2022 11:54

Can the hospital change the appointment? I’m sure if you let them know the transport issues (you’d not be the only one) , they could accommodate you on a different day ?

MulledWineAndMingePies · 27/12/2022 11:54

This is what I keep getting.
Its making me want to throw my fucking phone through the window.

i don't understand what I'm doing wrong?!

You need to use the main Brighton coach station

But when you type in 'Brighton' you get loads to choose from. What you type in 'london' theres 64 places to choose from....

The website is too literal. The buses go to the bus/coach station not the rail station. Just put ‘London’ in and you’ll see it.

JorisBonson · 27/12/2022 11:56

Southern are still running trains.

IntentionalError · 27/12/2022 11:56

You need Victoria coach station, not Victoria railway station.

bellac11 · 27/12/2022 11:56

Brighton coach station to London Victoria coach station, dont try to be too specifica on areas

Housenoob · 27/12/2022 11:56

Sorry is there a reason why you can't drive instead?
