What are the scenes that made you feel real emotion or even cry when they aired?

I’ll start with

Glee. When Karofsky feels suicide is his only option after being outed and Blaine is singing cough syrup as he gets himself dressed. The emotion Karofsky shows hits hard.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. The spies goodbye. It always makes me well up no matter how many times I see it.

The 100. When Monty has left a message to Clarke talking about how he and Harper didn’t cryo themselves and instead lived a life and had a son.

Lucifer. The end episode. Says it all

The death of Wallace in The Wire. That moment when he suddenly realises what’s about to happen.

Pallisers · 21/12/2022 15:24

When Stan died in Coronation Street and Hilda Ogden comes home after the funeral and sits down. Superb acting.

Only Fools and Horses when Cassandra loses the baby.

Mine is when Rodney and Del Boy are in the lift and Rodney is talking about it.

Blackadder 4 final scenes. Gets me just thinking about it.

WetBandits · 21/12/2022 15:27

Did you want a list?!

• Ethel’s death on Eastenders
• Eddie’s death on Stranger Things
• Lizzie’s death on Walking Dead
• Opie’s death on Sons of Anarchy
• Most of Call the Midwife

I could go on and on!

beguilingeyes · 21/12/2022 15:27

DCI Bilborough's (Christopher Eccleston) death in Cracker. So traumatic I can't watch that story at all any more (RIP Robbie Coltrane). I loathed Robert Carlyle for years afterwards.

KnickerlessParsons · 21/12/2022 15:29

The last episode of Better Call Saul.
Saul was the fall guy for everyone else (won't go into detail in case people haven't seen it.)
Also - poor Howard.

It’s a Sin. When the guy’s mum tells his fried that he has died. She stopped his friends from seeing him, telling him they loved him. Heartbreaking.

Chickenvoicesinmyhead · 21/12/2022 15:36

Ending of Of Mice and Men. Completely unexpected and powerful.

AnaBannanna · 21/12/2022 15:39

The Land Before Time. For obvious reasons.

Oh God this. I hate it so much and have never got over it. It's the worst thing I have ever seen.

Yup. I saw a MUG with Seymour's face on it and the words "I will wait for you" last year and I wept like a baby.

diddl · 21/12/2022 15:41

The Royle Family-The Queen of Sheba.

FamBae · 21/12/2022 15:42

Most recently quite a few scenes in It's a Sin and Will Gardner's death in The Good Wife.

Soubriquet · 21/12/2022 15:42

Ooo a new one

Wednesday. I teared up a little when she was reviving Thing

It’s a Sin. When the guy’s mum tells his fried that he has died. She stopped his friends from seeing him, telling him they loved him. Heartbreaking.

Also It’s A Sin, where they’re sending Christmas cards and there’s a Christmas song in the background, then it suddenly stops and pans to the family of burning all of their son’s stuff, including his childhood toys after he’s died from AIDS.

FirstnameSuesecondnamePerb · 21/12/2022 15:51

Call the Midwife, when Barbara dies.
I sobbed "why did they have to do that?". Such moving acting as well.
I'll happily sit down and binge on Call the Midwife, but have to skip that episode

countrypunk · 21/12/2022 15:52

Perfect Strangers. So many scenes make me cry, but the final scene when Alice is giving her toast and says that she loved Richard as her own child is just 💔

TheLizardQueen · 21/12/2022 15:56

When George dies in Greys Anatomy. Nobody knew it was him until he wrote 007 on Meredith’s palm. I ugly cried for a long time after that!

JustCakeInDrag · 21/12/2022 15:57

The moment of realisation in the Inside No 9 episode The 12 Days of Christine.

ApplesinmyPocket · 21/12/2022 15:57

John Thornton. North and South. "Look back. Look back at me."

(she doesn't)😢

billycat321 · 21/12/2022 15:58

Upstairs Downstairs. When Georgina saw off her friends on the train then the train full of wounded drew in. Heartbreaking

When Rodney married Cassandra and then they left the do at the Nags Head. The room cleared and Del was left alone with his thoughts while Simply Red's Holding back the years played. Cried when it first aired and cry every time i see it. Brilliant writing.

I came here to say this. Apparently, John Sullivan was watching the filming and asked why no one was laughing. The floor manager (or similar) turned to him and said “Because they’re all crying”. No idea if true but I like to think it is.

The funeral of Jordan’s brother in Scrubs. The way JD says to Dr Cox “Why do you think we’re here?”

TiredButAlive · 21/12/2022 15:59

It's a Sin, Colin - "Mammy make them do something"

reesewithoutaspoon · 21/12/2022 16:01

Emma Thomson scene in love actually where she finds out he's having an affair when she opens her xmas present and has to keep it together in front of the kids.
Superb acting absolutely heart wrenching stuff
