All adults, but don’t want anything too gory or sexy as watching with elderly parents who wouldn’t enjoy that. Also needs to be entertaining for 27yr old nephew.
Examples of films we have enjoyed together:

Various James Bond
Mask of Zorro
Ocean’s 11
Titanic
It’s a Wonderful life
Miss Congeniality
Bridget Jones’s Diary
Love Actually

Any ideas please for what we can try next?? Even if it’s a well known classic that we’ve ‘probably seen’ we don’t watch much film so still worth suggesting!

Thank you!

Oh, and we’re not into animated films, and nothing too fantastical, Tolkein and Marvel not really our thing.

Classics like Indiana Jones?
Shrek is generally a crowd-pleaser and is worth watching more than once.

Knives Out is a great film for an adult group. Very funny and clever comedy/murder mystery, with great actors of various generations.

Do you have Netflix? Have you seen The Dig?
The new Knives out will be on Netflix as well by then.

I'll be home for Christmas.

A few innuendos but family friendly. Happy comedy without being too silly. Grown up enough for adults but not "adult". Probably boring for preteens and younger.

ZeViteVitchofCwismas · 20/12/2022 13:29

Knives out without a doubt

SupposeItDoesnt · 20/12/2022 13:30

Murder on the orient express, or death on the Nile

kerkyra · 20/12/2022 13:34

Some like it hot....such a classic

BlueRaincoat1 · 20/12/2022 13:35

Top Gun 2 is available to rent or buy on Prime, and I think is going on to Paramount for Christmas too. Its awesome!

IloveJudgeJudy · 20/12/2022 13:36

Elf, surely?

Teaseall · 20/12/2022 13:36

Ocean's 12 & 13
The Holiday

HowVeryLikeSibella · 20/12/2022 13:37

Knives Out/Glass Onion or the newish Murder on the Orient Express.

Mission Impossible (any of them really but Fallout is a cracker)
Spy is a fun watch but a bit crude with its humour in parts.
Hot Fuzz is the best movie ever if you don't mind strong language.

BlueRaincoat1 · 20/12/2022 13:37

Oh also National Treasure on Disney is a great 'family movie' . Lots of action, nothing risqué at all.

meetmynewusername · 20/12/2022 13:44

Oooh loads of idea here we haven’t seen, thank you!!
