All adults, but don’t want anything too gory or sexy as watching with elderly parents who wouldn’t enjoy that. Also needs to be entertaining for 27yr old nephew.
Examples of films we have enjoyed together:

Various James Bond
Mask of Zorro
Ocean’s 11
Titanic
It’s a Wonderful life
Miss Congeniality
Bridget Jones’s Diary
Love Actually

Any ideas please for what we can try next?? Even if it’s a well known classic that we’ve ‘probably seen’ we don’t watch much film so still worth suggesting!

Thank you!

The new Jumanji films are much better than they have any right to be. Both on Netflix I think.

For Christmas films, I like Miracle on 34th Street (I prefer the old one). Have you seen Scrooged with Bill Murray? It's a kind of funny, 80s version of a Christmas Carol. I also think Muppet Christmas Carol is actually great, even if you don't have kids watching!

We've been trying to watch films from different years this year by picking a year out of a hat. It started as a sort of lock down game. I'd recommend it as a way of picking a film - it makes you think outside the box a bit. We are two adults in our 40s and a 10 yo so maybe not quite right but some of our favourites were The Princess Bride, Wonder, ET, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Hugo and Mouse Hunt. Some of them were better than we remembered (some of the ones we watch were worse...)

The Family Man - lovely Christmas film - its my own tradition to watch it every year, gets me in the Christmas mood
It's a Wonderful Life - a classic
Knives Out is great
Vacation is hilarious

We’re doing the new Knives Out in the evening. It’ll be It’s a Wonderful Life in the afternoon timed to end just as it gets dark outside and I’m feeling all nostalgic and a bit tearful (in a nice way).

We just watched 'Last Christmas' again, and loved it all the more knowing the ending. It's on BBC iPlayer so catch it while you can! (And have a box of tissues handy!).
