It's been bloody miserable. Thank goodness for a short spell of respite.

@WisteriaLodge I’m in East Anglia; it was 11 degrees when I went out but yesterday it was minus 8. It felt warm and humid, even though it really wasn’t.

Yes. Great to take off the three pairs of socks and let my feet free, and not go to bed in a hat.

And just relax and not worry about keeping warm/kids warm. I didn't realise how tense I had been until today.

Oh not the wet weathers made me so sad again. Much prefer the beautiful frosty cold.

Yes!!! I work in a retail store that has little heating and big front doors open all day. So nice today not to have to put ten layers on, and my tramps fingerless gloves, and still be cold. Bring on the mild weather

Same here, I hate this miserable mild muck!

I did enjoy the blue skies last week, but I'm enjoying not spending £7/day on gas to keep my house at 11 degrees even more!

Mercy1968 · 19/12/2022 23:58

I normally love the cold but our boiler broke down on Friday night so we had a whole weekend in the house with 8c temperature.
I ordered emergency electric fan heaters which came last night and today the boiler is fixed so of course the weather has turned mild 😀oh and the joy of boiling the kettle 20 times to wash my hair and have a semi warm sink wash can do one too.

So pleased..have both been wfh freezing, wrapped in fingerless gloves and oodies as worried about heating costs.
Scraping the car to drive kids to their schools was not fun. Typucal, now they're off, no de-icing required.
Mostly, I'm happy for the birds andother wild animals who suffer in the ice and snow. They've been so desperate these last weeks.
