Help please. I don't know London and have never been on the underground.

I need to get to Jubilee Park in Canary Wharf by 9am one day next week, I won't be able to get to the hotel until about 9pm at night, I will need to park my car and leave it there whilst I go into CW or drive in is that crazy?

Please help, I have no idea

I was being sarcastic - it’s a terrible idea!

Ha! My sarcasm detector rarely let's me down, I think this is proof of how completely lost I am when it comes to London.

@Anewhoo I've saved the Woking suggestion as likely I will need to repeat this journey in a few months. I've booked Ealing Premier Inn so will see how that goes...

I am now incredibly invested in the Ealing premier inn being up to scratch and the Elizabeth line being its usual dreamy self.

OP - I hope you have some nice things planned for Sunday! Canary Wharf is v Christmassy at the moment.

I haven't forgotten to update, it has been moved to this weekend.

I've been on the TFL website and it appears I can get the 7.50am train from Ealing to CW (Elizabeth line is striking but appears to be running by Sunday morning)

Just to confirm, I scan my phone when I enter the tube and then when I exit and it will work out the charge. Thanks.

Hope all goes well @DontWantToDance !

Yes, open up your Apple Pay (or have a card handy) and just tap your phone/card on the yellow reader at the barrier and it will open for you.

DontWantToDance · 07/01/2023 22:33

Thanks @OhOneOhTwoOhThree

Half done and so far so good. So thankful @JassyRadlett suggested Ealing, took 10 mins and easy to park, roads were fine.

Fingers crossed for tomorrow.

On an android phone you I'll need to activate the NFC thing, that lets you access Google pay, that lets you beep it on the card reader.
Not sure about an iPhone.

JassyRadlett · 07/01/2023 23:42

Hurrah! Have a great night's sleep and fingers crossed for an easy journey tomorrow.

DontWantToDance · 17/01/2023 15:15

Just seen you @JassyRadlett on the weird fridge post and remembered I hadn't updated.

The Elizabeth line was excellent. Easy, clean and on time.

Thanks for the tip about no signal in CW, I'd downloaded the map beforehand.

Honestly can not thank you all enough. Saved me so much stress
