Electric throws, do you feel the wires through the throw ?

Hi

i have been researching electric heated throws. Looked at the ones recommended on here .

I’ve seen a few reviews mentions feeling the wires, but in general most people don’t mention them . So I wondered if people feel them but expect to so don’t say in reviews, or just some people notice? If some throws better than others for that .

Also been tempted by the Dreamland faux fur ones , around £110. But saw one person in a review said they washed it and it stopped being fluffy .

So perhaps velvet , fleece, flannel , Sherpa etc washes better ?

I don’t think they need regular washing, as throws, but wouldn’t want to damage a lovely expensive fluffy one when I do .

any advice or suggestions ?

thanks

So ordered the husky throw and it arrived . Very deep creases and sort of dents in the throw .
the creases are deep and not sure they would come out . Plus little dents , circle dents and small lines in the throw . Plus one bit of fir where it goes in the wrong direction .

is this normal and it will look better once it’s laid flat ?

It’s been folded up in the strong plastic cover for a while. Just plug it in and start using it. The creases will ease in a few days. Not sure about the fur, never looked too closely at mine!

Honestly, just start using it. Give it a couple of weeks. If you’re not happy/think it’s defective, then return it under warranty.

Can you post a photo of how bad it looks? Others might be able to reassure that it will look ok.

As Furries has said it's been folded up tightly in a warehouse so that it doesn't take up too much space. When you give it a shake and spread it out over a settee it should 'relax' and be just as you wish - warm and cosy.

I’ll take some photos. It’s the dents in the fur which seems odd. I can see why it would be creased, but odd shaped dents ?

This throw seems to be causing you an awful lot of worries OP.

Thanks . Does fit into a standard sized washing machine ?

Sorry, I've just seen your question.

I've got a 9kg machine, and it fits easily into that.

Depending on how you use it, you could take it to a launderette to wash if it doesn't fit your machine?

I only use mine across my lap watching telly or reading, so it doesn't get soiled at all - I just wash it very occasionally to freshen it up.
I did have my mother down to stay once and she said she was cold in bed. I gave her the throw to have, so obviously I washed it straight after she left.

Spoke to Lakeland and they said to heat and use it , for quite a few times, and if they don’t come out, I can return.

it’s lovely ! Used in sofa and sat under .

Sadly not quite big enough for whole of bed, but still use it as covers enough .

love it and hopefully dents will come out, but they will sort if don’t .

thanks everyone .
