And at what point do you put the heating on?
Feels like I’ve run up a small fortune on my gas this week, trying to encourage everyone to wear jumpers, fluffy socks etc but still nippy!

OP posts:
BlueKaftan · 11/12/2022 18:35

20 and it’s lovely. I’m wearing a fleece and DH is wearing a flannel shirt.

Hairyfairy01 · 11/12/2022 18:36

Been 9 all day, heating is now trying to get up to 15 (as set for in the evenings). Currently at 13. Layers and blankets everywhere here.

Balaya · 11/12/2022 18:37

Our hearing 8s set at a minimum 18 degs but trued to ramp it up to 21 today since we were expecting visitors. Radiators were on but it just about made 19.5 over 6 hours.

Cost bloody £8.50!

wlanbsoo · 11/12/2022 18:39

20.4 C

FuckMyLife2022 · 11/12/2022 18:42

11C because we’ve been out all day till 6pm and the boiler pressure dropped so it didn’t fire up when I was meant to at 4pm Xmas Sad <— COLD.

Old cottage with single glazing so the temp drops fast and takes a while to heat up/is shite at retaining heat.

middleofthelittle · 11/12/2022 18:42

15.5, heating has been on for two hours. Will get up to 17 and click off. Have the heating on from 5.30-6.30am to take the chill off and then usually 17.00-20.00. Anything over 18 and we're roasting.

onmywayamarillo · 11/12/2022 18:42

16.5 😱
Living room fire has been on since 3pm

Heating came on at 4.30pm

Bloody oven on since 3 at 200 ° for an hour

It's going to cost me thousands 🤣

Last months bill was £197 I mean what the af

lushforlife · 11/12/2022 18:48

10 degrees. Bloody freezing. Can't afford heating on long and it seems to disappear quickly anyway. All layered up. We do have an open fire which is great but we've been in and out today so couldn't leave it lit. Will put heating on for an hour now for DC going to bed.

user1634987 · 11/12/2022 18:53

About 20c in main rooms but only 16 in kitchen as radiator quite small, if I am in there much I switch on additional oil filled radiator

Fiveinthebed22 · 11/12/2022 18:56

Very draughty house it’s been set at 21 constantly this weekend but just not reaching temp and keeps dipping.

What temperature is your house right now?
Chuggie · 11/12/2022 18:59

Our heating is on and off most days…wearing lots of layers until it becomes unbearable….heating set at 18 during the day for a few hours then a blast of 20 for a couple of hours…..it is costing between £7 and £10 per day so far….😳😳😳

Youdoyoubabe · 11/12/2022 19:00

No idea. Thermostat set at 21. So about that I guess. Kitchen warmer as it has a range oven in it.

ApolloandDaphne · 11/12/2022 19:01

About 18 degrees but I also have the log burner on and I am roasting

jmh740 · 11/12/2022 19:03

It's been around 9 all day heating comes on between 6-8pm, im sat on the sofa wearing a scarf under a blanket with a hot water bottle

Liebig · 11/12/2022 19:04

It’s truly comedic how badly insulated housing stock is on this dreary island.

If only there were some protest movement about making insulation a top priority for gov’t investment. Everyone would rally behind them because of this sorry state of affairs.

If the Gulf Stream fails, we’ll be getting Canadian temperatures AND while having British housing standards with high energy prices. Amazing combination.

AnyFucker · 11/12/2022 19:07

Been away for weekend, got back at 3pm and it was 13degrees.

Switched the heating on and is still only 15degrees.

PatientlyWaiting21 · 11/12/2022 19:16

22, heating not been on since early noon, but it’s a new build, so this is the one area it pays off 😂

thedogshatonthematt · 11/12/2022 19:17

@wonkylegs Nice setup! Is the bit in orange the target temp?

GreenLeavesRustling · 11/12/2022 19:20

13.2 degrees.
feels ok though. But I am wearing a woolly hat 😂

Spenn · 11/12/2022 19:20

SliceOfCakeCupOfTea · 11/12/2022 17:46

Why do we see a new version of this thread every day or so?

Yes. It's cold. It's winter. Fuel is expensive. Some are struggling. Some are just cutting back.

It's still Autumn.

Agree with the rest though

thedogshatonthematt · 11/12/2022 19:21

25 Degrees here with the log burner on, it’s a bit toasty so the door is open to let the hot air go upstairs 🥵

wonkylegs · 11/12/2022 19:22

@thedogshatonthematt yes the orange is the target temp, it's only just come on in our bedroom so it's still heading for the target.
It's learns how long it takes to get to temp, so when it's colder outside, it starts earlier to get to the target for the time set.

I've never got starting winter from midwinter day.

babynoname22 · 11/12/2022 19:25

16-18. It's feeling cold and we have a toddler and a baby so it goes on to keep them warm. 18 is plenty. We have oil filled radiators that come on in the night to keep the chill off

anythinginapinch · 11/12/2022 19:26

Gloriously warm. Radiators on all day. Fire lit. I'm sorry for those who are cold, I really am. Have never voted Tory. Don't mind paying taxes. My conscience is clear and I'm wonderfully warm
