School boy won't let people sit down

Every day after school we see the same boy on the bus. He sits on a double seat and refuses to let people sit next to him he puts his leg there so no one can sit there. Several times people have wanted to sit. He won't move for anyone. Such as small children who can't balance . Elderly people. Adults have told him of on several occasions telling him to let the old lady sit down . Today he sat on the back seats. The ones where there are 5/6 seats all next to each other. He had his bag on one seat. He was sitting on the one next to it, then had his leg on the other so was taking up 3 seats . An old man asked him to move over so he can sit down . The boy refused to move several times the man asked and the boy kept refusing. The man then said im 74 years old and you won't even let me sit down you have no manners. He was a frail man. He was able to get a seat in the end. But this has been going on for a few weeks now and the boy is doing it everyday. I know what school he has to but I don't know his name or anything like that. So I can't complain to the school bas thete are over 1000 pupils in the school.

We are talking a London bus at school going home time so it's very busy.

It sounds petty when I write it but he is causing upset abd stress towards passengers.

Any suggestions ?

Could you accidentally on purpose sit on his leg and if he reacts, say I'm so sorry, I saw a seat to sit down on and didn't see your leg IN THE WAY!?!

Exactly and this thread has extremis on both ends, ‘He May knife you!’ to ‘He could be autistic’

Maybe it’s dementia.

So would I and he would have been very sorry!

I was on a bus locally when one of the children from the local school who was still at the bus stop mooned while the bus was at the stop and as it pulled away. I am fairly tolerant of kids behaviour but on this occasion I phoned and gave his description to the school who were fairly sure they knew which youngster it was. They said they would have a word with him.

RosesAndHellebores · 05/12/2022 20:48

Am I the only one who has noticed this boy always seems to be travelling alone. Quite unusual I'd say.

A description of his face I hope 🤭

Take a photo of him and email it to school explaining behavior. I had to do the same a few weeks ago when a group of girls from a local high school were stealing from the a shop and started hurling racist abuse at the security guy.

I'm not sure if that's against the law? Also I'm not sure what it might trigger. Which could cause further upset to people bon the bus children ect.

My older 2 children take the train to school. My 14 yr old DD and friends were being harassed by an older boy (about 16)- he would bang on windows at them at station stop, shout sexual abuse etc.

I got her to take a picture if she felt
safe. I didn’t give a hoot if it was against some kind of law - I figured his behaviour was worse. I asked a friend if it they recognised the blazer- her daughters identified the child.

I emailed a photo to the school with details of behaviour. HT was a little ‘I am sorry your daughter felt the need to … blah blah blah - but DD and friends never had boy banging on window and threatening to rape
them again.

I'd take a picture of him and take it to the school

This

I’d sit on his knee, I’m very fat. He’d move then

LadyFushia · 05/12/2022 20:52

If he was ok a few months ago and this is a recent thing, it does make me wonder if he's had a scary incident or someone has done something to him on the bus. If that's the case then a photo and a word with the school would also allow for an adult to check in with him to see if there are any skate welfare issues, you may get the added benefit of him not hogging the seats anymore.

amonsteronthehill · 05/12/2022 20:55

Take his picture and send it to his school with what you've written here.

WeBuiltThisBuffetOnSausageRoll · 05/12/2022 20:56

A description of his face I hope

You are both very bad people Grin

😄

Sadly it's very common for kids to carry knifes. Almost every day there is a stabbing involving a school child or young person . A few years back I did see a kid with a knife on the bus he only looked 11/12. It does happen often. This is often why people don't want to get involved.

Suplex or the Peoples Elbow.

I plonked myself on someone’s foot once and we argued all the way from London to Reading 😆

I’d take my chances, considering lots of people have tried with him and he hasn’t responded by brandishing a weapon..

Send him up North, he’d be off the bus head-first within about 30 seconds!

Haha or to Glasgow. Some hard man would have him shifted or off the bus in seconds

HomemadePickle · 05/12/2022 21:09

@Hospital2022 it’s not illegal to take his photo for the purposes of sending it to his school.

my friend’s son was recently in trouble at his school after having his photo taken by some exasperated commuters on his train sick of his antisocial behaviour!

EvilRingahBitch · 05/12/2022 21:11

WeBuiltThisBuffetOnSausageRoll · 05/12/2022 20:28

Inform the school ask it’s raised as an issue

And if he doesn't see the very obvious error of his ways and continues to do it anyway? Maybe the government could start advertising on the telly and telling everybody what bad behaviours they must never do, and then the police force could be done away with?

Considering that some people on here are insisting that you can't take photos of children, so he can't even be identified to the school (or could outright deny it).

The answer is that he has his Zip card disabled by TfL for abuse of free travel privileges.

Zone2NorthLondon · 05/12/2022 21:17

Report his behaviour to school
Report it online to TFL, zip cards can be withdrawn if behaviour breach occurs

MsFogi · 05/12/2022 21:20

cantkeepawayforever · 05/12/2022 17:54

Take photo, send to his school with description of behaviour.

Do this - my dcs schools in London would absolutely deal with this if the kid is in their uniform. Even if you can't take a photo, contact the school and if it is a decent one they will send a teacher to find out who it is (certainly the my dcs' non-selective comps go all out to find pupils who are behaving badly out of school in uniform).

WeBuiltThisBuffetOnSausageRoll · 05/12/2022 21:22

Fair enough, then. Shame they can't also charge him backdated for all of the non-free seats he's insisted on using, though.

Blueeyedgirl21 · 05/12/2022 21:26

You can only hope one day someone less restrained loses their shit and smacks the little twat
unfortunately probably the only thing that will get his brain whirring

CarefreeMe · 05/12/2022 21:30

I get on the bus 1 stop before him.

Try and nab the back seat so he can’t hog it.

At least then he’ll only sit on a 2 seater and take up one seat.
