M&S Sparks 12 Days of Christmas

So today is the first day of the M&S 12 Days of Christmas Advent rewards on the app.
What have you got?
I've got a free M&S Tea Light Up Lantern - looks lovely but I don't drink tea. But it is free... tricky! It does say I have 11 days to use though, which is good.

I've got days out access. I think it is like Kids Pass, but I need to wait for the email.

I got this too. Haven’t had the email yet but I clicked on the button to read the T’s & C’s and the only info I can find (in a very long page) is that you get 3 months free if you spend £35 in clothing, home or beauty. There’s various dates on it, including last July, so that might be a different promo but there’s no other info. Anyway if it’s like Kids Pass it’s probably no good when all my DC are over 16. Wonder if I can let someone else use it

Floralnomad · 13/12/2022 12:25

It’s ridiculous they could at least give you something that an adult can make use of - my kids are adults . Aside from day 1 it’s been a complete waste of time and for people like my sisters who got crap things on day 1 it’s been a complete washout .

What a load of shite

I got sparks days out. I don't have kids. Good demographic work M&S

Same here. It's been rubbish from start to finish

Supersimkin2 · 13/12/2022 13:01

I’ve got no Sparks at all - 12 days, no sign of.

Nor have I?

Has it finished

AbbyGal · 13/12/2022 13:15

Check in your normal Sparks bit.

30% off Christmas decorations!! Again, not something I'm going to use.

I'm definitely feeling decidedly underwhelmed by the whole thing - the whole pint of loyalty cards is that they can harvest our spending patterns and they have missed with every offer I received.

TBH, rubbish gifts are worse than no gifts at all!!

pigonalipstick · 13/12/2022 13:17

@woodhill @Supersimkin2 have you been playing on the sparks 12 days via the app?

Mañanarama · 13/12/2022 13:18

I reckon I’ve saved about £40-45 on my freebies and discounts, so it’s not all bad. That said, there were a lot of completely irrelevant offers, and I think they could do it better next year. If they want to tempt people into stores they need more general discounts with a few small freebies thrown in like candles or gloves or Christmassy chocolate, winter related stuff.

REALLY wanted a coats discount, that would have had me spending nearly £100 with them but I’ve gone direct to Fatface instead. Gin would’ve been nice, too.

Parmavi0lets · 13/12/2022 13:19

This whole thing has made me quite annoyed. If you want my data, I'd like something good in return! Boots, Sainsbury's, Tesco, Superdrug...at least they give you actual money off as you accrue points. I'm thinking of cancelling my Sparks card as I just don't see the point in it. The fact that M&S thinks I'm that desperate for some free percy pigs is somewhat insulting.

Madcats · 13/12/2022 13:19

I managed to grab the last two pairs of women's small black thermal tights for teen. With typical M&S stock efficiency there were plenty in large, but empty racks for small and medium.

Still, I suppose I saved a fiver with my 20% off, but I don't think I'll bother next year.

AngeloMysterioso · 13/12/2022 13:29

I’m actually quite pissed off- the amount of money I spend in M&S, and I get a hand cream while other people get Prosecco and gin, a bunch of offers most of which I’m unlikely to use and my big special treat is the Sparks Days Out pass.

Yes

woodhill · 13/12/2022 13:33

I clicked on an email and it seemed to work:)

mum2jakie · 13/12/2022 13:50

Got the kids pass offer too. Pretty shit. My kids are teens and refuse to be seen out in public with me nowadays!

I never realised you needed kids to go to the cinema or restaurant.

EVHead · 13/12/2022 13:58

I’d have been happy with a free coffee and some cake from their cafe. They’ve misjudged the demographic here!

MissyB1 · 13/12/2022 14:25

I got something for money off days out. I clicked to see what was within 10 miles of my location- absolutely nothing!!!

Fucking waste of time.

I’ve been saying all along a free hot drink and snack would make me happy.

bizzey · 13/12/2022 14:28

Mine was in my emails.

pigonalipstick · 13/12/2022 15:10

I never realised you needed kids to go to the cinema or restaurant.

Why are you being snippy? This is a nice thread on chat.

I assumed because it's orchestrated by kids pass that it'll be 'buy one adult, child goes free' type offers.

MadisonAvenue · 13/12/2022 15:21

Mine finally arrived in an email, even though I’ve been using the app all along (there’s no sign of 12 days in that now).

My kids are 25 and 22 so the pass is no use to me.

I could do with that offerCake

I thought that too, and a lot of the restaurant offers are kids eat free.

MadisonAvenue · 13/12/2022 15:44

This is a reply on Twitter to someone complaining about the offers -

we're sorry to hear that you weren't happy with our 12 Days of Sparks offers and have fed this back to our Sparks Team. Our offers were designed using every customer's unique shopping habits and I'm sad to hear you're disappointed by the offers you've received.

Their system didn’t look very closely at my shopping habits. I had a free gift of a bottle of Buck’s Fizz but I’ve never bought alcohol from M&S, likewise underwear, bags, nightwear and skincare.
