Anyone at Sherwood CenterParcs?...

...that fancies picking up a toy that I really should have bought my DD at the time? We came home yesterday.

I didn't, thinking I'd secretly nip back for it, then surprise her on her Birthday, but I didn't clock that the Just Kids shop closed at 6.00pm.

I've called the store, and they won't post it. It's not available anywhere in the flipping UK, and charges from the US are £25.

It's a Polly Pocket set, about £15.00. If anyone is kind enough to pick it up and post it to me (I'll obviously pay the P&P) I would be eternally grateful.

It didn't occur to me how tricky it would be to find one!

@PuppyMonkey Please don't. I was OP to get the toy as much as the next person but it's not CPs fault and I doubt they even have the ability to process payments from the toy shop on the phone. There's enough pressure on retail and hospitality staff without them taking orders through a process that doesn't exist.

See my answer above.

By the way I have donated £40,000 to charity over the last 7 years.

In the nicest way, this thread isn’t about you and you’re detailing it.

any chance you could stop please?

Lemonie2000 · 26/11/2022 21:07

I'm at cp Elveden in a week or so and would be happy to look for you too. Message me if you'd like me to look for you. x

CenterParcsToyHelp · 26/11/2022 21:10

Huge thanks Lemonie. I really appreciate it x

Yeah, CP totally won’t have the technology to take card payments over the phone.Grin

I am interested in your proposal OP. Presumably whoever were to make a purchase in the UK would go out of their way for you. Even if at Centre Parcs already, they would still have to break off, purchase and then post it to you. In that case, how would you pay for their time, effort and risk plus the lack of privacy? Is it not easier to buy the one from the US which is via Amazon in California? If you really wanted it then $25 is much easier.

Ffs there's always one

@Cookerdog

How do you know someone "gave" 40k to charity?

They tell you Confused

@Cookerdog Stop it now, you're embarrassing.

Wallawallakoala · 26/11/2022 21:18

My friend is there she will do it happily but not until mid dec is that any use??

MichelleScarn · 26/11/2022 21:19

@CenterParcsToyHelp was it definitely polly pocket? Not Tinkerbell the Pirate Fairy?

spidereggs · 26/11/2022 21:20

Dearly me.

Anyway, join the cp chat pages as others have said. Totally normal request and commonplace there.

Yes, definitely Polly Pocket. Thank you WallaWalla - if it gets to mid-Dec, and still no joy, I will PM you. Many thanks x

@Cookerdog you don’t have to post multiple times telling individuals to see your answer above 😂 also not sure how posting something to OP would risk the poster’s privacy… Not everything is sinister you know!

CenterParcsToyHelp · 26/11/2022 21:23

Oh my, MichelleScam I hope she doesn't see that as well! Grin

bangersandmash2 · 26/11/2022 21:25

I sort of agree though- why not buy the one on Amazon US that is available and not have to inconvenience anyone? Price difference will be negligible by the time you've paid postage.

Wallawallakoala · 26/11/2022 21:28

It doesn’t seem like they will ship that one to uk

I'd happily buy it from Amazon, but got this message - This item cannot be shipped to your selected delivery location. Please choose a different delivery location

I’m going to Sherwood CP on the 16th December, happy to pick up and post if you haven’t found one by then!

Nevermindthesquirrels · 26/11/2022 21:29

@bangersandmash2 Because if someone is there and can do it for the OP than what's the harm in asking. The price difference won't be negligible. £6 postage max is much different for £15-30 postage that doesn't include potential customs fees and time stuck in those customs.

CenterParcsToyHelp · 26/11/2022 21:29

x-post with WallaWalla

The P&P I mentioned was eBay sellers in the US.
