It's not a treat.

OP posts:
AliBingo · 25/11/2022 16:41

I got a freebie croissant but the small print said anything from the bakery, so today I got a free £2 Christmas tree yumnut 😍

MeridianB · 25/11/2022 16:47

It's going to be prune juice - or something they don't think anyone would claim.

But at least their reward system doesn't require a degree in data science and the patience of Job, like the Waitrose one. 😡

WhyDoesItAlways · 25/11/2022 16:47

50p off bakery for me. I've never had anything free.

Wondering if OP works for M&S and was just trying to get us all to check our app and get spending.

TheYearOfSmallThings · 25/11/2022 16:48

Bin liners would be handy.

MsFannySqueers · 25/11/2022 16:51

I shop every week in M&S and spend well too much really. I never get anything free with Sparks ever! I keep on using it because it does support the charity I chose when I first got the Sparks card. I also saw someone in my local M&S win their shopping for free with a Sparks card. They were at the checkout just ahead of me 😭! I may try the twelve days of Christmas thing.

cinnabongene · 25/11/2022 16:52

I’ve had toilet roll and pointed peppers before - not exactly what I had in mind for a treat

SecretPeston · 25/11/2022 16:55

No free treat for me at the moment, but 15% off of salad Confused

AdoraBell · 25/11/2022 16:56

I second bin bags.

Justthisonce12 · 25/11/2022 17:03

I’ve just checked mine and I have a free Christmas magazine just what I’ve asked Santa for so I’m so relieved it’s been delivered

JayJayYoYo · 25/11/2022 17:04

Is a recommendation on what chips to have with your steak?

Tiredmumno1 · 25/11/2022 17:04

AdoraBell · 25/11/2022 16:56

I second bin bags.

That would have been fantastic on my last shop, as I forgot to order them 😂

lindyloo57 · 25/11/2022 17:04

I've had two loafs of bread, some chocolate cookies, a yogurt, and the percy pig sweets

Solmum1964 · 25/11/2022 17:06

I had the free loaf of bread offer but when I went to the store I couldn't get the offers to load in the app (to see which loaf it was) - so gave up!
I do most of my shopping in Tesco, though, and get a lot of points. I always treble the value at reward partners so recently they've been used for Eurotunnel; a six place setting from Denby; jewellery from Goldsmiths for a special birthday gift and I'm having lunch with a friend on Monday so exchanged £13.50 to pay for two courses for two at Chef and Brewer!
In case it helps anyone, Tesco are currently offering a free trial of their Clubcard Plus subscription. It normally costs £7.99 a month but gives you 10% off two big shops a month (up to £200) plus 10% off their non-food brands (F&F, Go Cook, Fox & Ivy, Carousel) at any time.
I pay for the subscription and usually stock up with meat, wine, coffee, store cupboard, household and toiletries on the big weeks and just top up milk, fruit and veg between times. After paying the monthly charge I usually save £32 a month on my shopping!

fancyacuppatea · 25/11/2022 17:09

Is it a free scone?
Obvs you have to provide your own jam and cream. Grin

fancyacuppatea · 25/11/2022 17:11

Ah, hang on...grocery includes non-edible stuff, doesn't it...
yeah, as per PP, free bin bags, or if you're really lucky a free "bag for life".

JesusMaryAndJosephAndTheWeeDon · 25/11/2022 17:22

pictish · 25/11/2022 15:37

I can’t begin to imagine a treat that might involve Gary Barlow…please enlighten me.

Kicking him?

cheapskatemum · 25/11/2022 17:24

Was it the M&S Food Magazine? I've got that, which is quite like, but then it says "read online". I'd rather have an actual magazine I can cut recipes out of. Does anyone know if you can claim offers at M&S petrol stations?

cheapskatemum · 25/11/2022 17:24

I'd quite like...

Badknitter · 25/11/2022 17:27

I’ve only had x% off various things, usually a couple of days after I’ve just bought the item and I don’t need more. I’d be happy with mince pies

Justsaying22 · 25/11/2022 17:30

Well I’ve been offered a packet of 4 pears.. I mean I like a free treat.. but I’m not sure that I’ll be bothering to cart them home on the bus..

IcakethereforeIam · 25/11/2022 17:32

I got cookies.

OP, I'm invested, what was it!?

I hope it wasn't Percy Pig juice, that sounds all kinds of wrong.

Collywibbles · 25/11/2022 17:34

I had a free extra "side" in the meal deal last week. That's been the best thing for ages. It's normally a bakery product ...

whynotwhatknot · 25/11/2022 17:42

20% off lingerie here

Weightlossanne · 25/11/2022 17:43

I had a free gastropub meal in the summer. I’ve currently got the free loaf of bread. I used to use M&S Simply Food a lot but we moved and it’s not as convenient any more. I’ve also noticed they don’t give the vouchers at the till for £5 off £40 spend any more.

Senseofsomething · 25/11/2022 17:45

Now having seen this I feel incredibly(!) fortunate to have had the free ugly gingham make up bag today. 😆 It’s not super beautiful but can go in my present pile.

I often get treats. I pop in often and spend very little.
