It's not a treat.

20% off a ‘mini planted Christmas tree’. I am not impressed.

darisdet · 09/12/2022 01:59

I stopped buying socks from M&S for me and DD since they changed the sizes to 3-5 and 6-8 for women socks.

We are both a shoe size 5-6 depending on brand and style and 3-5 is too small and 6-8 is too big.

All other retailer still do size 4-7, much more the norm for the average female.

Very grateful that M&S socks now fit up to size 8. I'm an 8, DD who is a 7 wears them too. Retailers who do 4-7 socks are a nightmare, they are tight on a 7, no hope for an 8 and often shrink.

Day 9- telling me I’m a bit early and come back tomorrow!! So nothing at all today. Surely that wins the thread!?

Alakazam8 · 09/12/2022 06:13

Just to prove I’m on the right day!!

I don't mind that there are other size options out there. I loved M&S socks, they were really good quality. In a way I do have the same problem you have, 3-5 is just too small for someone with a shoesize 5 but 6-8 is so massive, I get blisters because there is too much fabric around the heel.

Still, the average female is a size 5-6. I have friends with size 7 or 8 and I do know they struggle, both moved to mens socks. In an ideal world you would get adult socks in smaller size ranges and overlapping but I assume the production costs are too high.

I got that and am thinking of taking it up.

For £10 a month you get £90 of M&S vouchers, a birthday gift, 32 free hot drinks and triple points on your credit card. Should be worth it in the first year at least.

TheOrigRights · 09/12/2022 09:29

Same! It's not a major problem for day to day socks, but for my running socks it's a problem. There is NOTHING worse, NOTHING I say, than having a fold of sock develop in your shoe when you're racing.

CorporateBull · 09/12/2022 11:40

15% off M&S deli here. Be still, my beating Christmassy heart.

Eaumyword · 09/12/2022 14:19

😂I have loved these threads though!

AbbyGal · 10/12/2022 09:01

20% off bath and body products today.

I'm sensing a theme here - every gift has been for something I've never bought from them! I guess they're trying to nudge me into trying something new, but I do buy quite a bit from Marks so it would be nice if they gave me something I could actually use! (Just in case you're reading this M&S marketing Dept 😀)

darisdet · 10/12/2022 10:19

20% off skincare today

I think they sell more branded skincare nowadays but it's no t something I go to M & S for.

For £10 a month you get £90 of M&S vouchers, a birthday gift, 32 free hot drinks and triple points on your credit card. Should be worth it in the first year at least.

But what are the vouchers? 10% of newborn baby clothes sold in store under the first moon of June between 8.05 and 8.37pm on Wednesday when your store is a) largely sandwiches and wine, b) closed by 5.30pm and c) you're more of the support tights and men's slippers purchaser type? 5% off gluten fest cake when you only ever buy from their Free From range? £10 off when you spend over £150 on Percy Pigs or 35% off a £250 overpriced pair of rainbow leather look (ie, plastic) pantaloon style chaps (inside leg short = 195 cm to knee length) with a puce and lurex feather boa trim?

Oh, and a packet of Percy Pigs on your birthday.

Sartre · 11/12/2022 17:19

I got percy pigs the first day then ever since it’s just been shite discount codes I’ll never use. Today 20% off dresses and skirts, other days 15-20% off skincare or jumpers. It’s been a bit of a letdown. Keep hoping the next day will be better and it just isn’t. Wish I got the free gin!

TheOrigRights · 11/12/2022 18:41

We happened to be near an M&S yesterday (rare for me) so I went in and got my free pack of shortbread. Yum.
I've also used the 20% off tights and socks.

FredaFox · 11/12/2022 18:47

I've been in again for my Percy pig bauble, none left, on the t@c now it says I can have one of a few listed baubles or the hand cream
asked at the till, no baubles, no fragrance hand cream so was given a calm apothecary Hand and body lotion

FredaFox · 11/12/2022 18:48

What do we all think we will get tomorrow?! Finish with a freebie?!

BarbaraofSeville · 11/12/2022 19:12

Definitely think we deserve a freebie for making it all the way to the end. It does say you get something extra if you open all 12 windows, so I want something good tomorrow.

When you get free gin on day 1, it's going to have to be pretty special not to be a disappointment compared to that.

CorporateBull · 11/12/2022 20:45

Today I got 20% off women’s socks.

Ooh that’s good, but I just tried to order one of the baubles and it still wanted to charge me. How annoying.
