It's not a treat.

OP posts:

Dm used to reckon when the catalogues said "essential kitchen item" it was normally a wooden spoon.

GiveMyHeadPeaceffs · 25/11/2022 15:36

My last treat was a bag of cookies and the one before that was a loaf of bread. I quite like Sparks.

Does anyone remember the Gary Barlow 'treat' ? God that annoyed me

I can’t begin to imagine a treat that might involve Gary Barlow…please enlighten me.

Its crap. I had free pack crumpets ran back to aisle. Out stock.

That was me in Summer, offer for a Jubilee Colin cake. None in the three stores I go to. regularly for the whole 15 days I would have been able get it.

I had Percies, Pink Ladies, bread and a single loose bakery item. The picture was a croissant but I got DD a chocolate muffin for it.

Most of the offers are pointless and while I put them on the card, I never need it when it's there and they are not cupboard stables or things like knickers/tights/socks I need anyway.

TheFlis12345 · 25/11/2022 15:40

I got about £30 of free stuff last time they did a 12 days of sparks including chocolate, cookies and smoothies. I’ve also had 2 sets of nice candles, various biscuits / sweets / crisps this year. The best was one of those big jars of Percies at Easter that were retailing for over £15!

BarbaraofSeville · 25/11/2022 15:41

I also quite like Sparks, but it seems to be a bit of a MN 'thing' for people to regularly post how shit it is.

Maybe people aren't shopping there often enough? My least favourite loyalty scheme, and supermarket for that matter, is Tesco. They tend to send me all my Clubcard points at once just before Christmas each year and tell me that I can 'splash out for Christmas' with the £1.50 that they've sent me. Or I might be able to save up about 3 years worth of points to get a half price Pizza Express pizza.

MotherWol · 25/11/2022 15:41

I don’t have a treat 🤔

most of the time I’d say the Sparks offers are fairly pointless, but last week I had 15% off shoes, and the offer in store was 20% off, and they stack the discounts, so I got 35% off! Definitely worth it for that.

JackandVera · 25/11/2022 15:41

All I've got are 50 pence off eg a bag of frozen peas .

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 25/11/2022 15:42

I used to have a Sparks card but just CBA with it. Ditto the John Lewis one.
The only cards worth having - to me, anyway - are those that give you points to spend.

canina · 25/11/2022 15:46

Mary46 · 25/11/2022 15:30

Canina I think u have add on your offers on the app its shows at till then

I always add all offers but never noticed anything at till, will look next time

Blueberrycreampie · 25/11/2022 15:47

I've got 20% off women's nightwear which I've used online today. No free goodies for ages.

Muggeridge · 25/11/2022 15:47

I got a body wash

quicklybeendrivenmad · 25/11/2022 15:47

I had 20% of clothing, home and beauty last month, then my reward vouchers came with 3 x 500 points on clothing, home and beauty (online or in store) and 3 x 300 points for food instore. Also had an offer for 3x points if I took a card in my own name (was 2nd cardholder on husbands prior) Took 5 mins to apply so unless the voucher relates to the joint card use my sole one now.

Sparks card has to be the shittest loyalty card. That and Superdrug. What's the point Angry

Nah, at least you occasionally get a discount with Sparks, the worst had to be John Lewis. I’ve had one for years and dutifully swipe it on the occasion I buy from JL but I still have no idea what it does!

Muggeridge · 25/11/2022 15:48

I’ve also got a set of theee candles before. Don’t spend that much there

100% this. It does nothing.

TheOrigRights · 25/11/2022 15:56

I just logged into my Sparks account, eyeballed it quickly, saw "£12,438,785" and though Yay....lots of loyalty points!
I guess I'm feeling glass 1/2 full today.

Just the 20% off nightwear, which seems to exclude all the items you might actually want (thermals and warm socks).

How do you get a free treat?

listsandbudgets · 25/11/2022 16:02

Inspired by this I've checked - a packet of cookies Smile but I'm meant to be on a diet Sad

Also some offers - 50p off blueberries, 50p of granola, £1.50 off min £10 worth of spirits, £1 off when spending min £7 on deli stuff and 75p off if I spend £5 on fruit and nuts. At least they're things I (or dp) actually buy sometimes. M&S food hall is our nearest food shop except for the co-op and the co-op is oddly enough more expensive than M&S for a lot of things

Sleepyquest · 25/11/2022 16:02

@pictish it was like 20% off Gary Barlow tickets and they kept pushing it and telling me I had this treat and it become and ongoing joke on another thread because it was just so crap

Cattenberg · 25/11/2022 16:06

If I could choose a treat from M&S, it would be their blond chocolate with caramelised pistachios. Trust me, it is good! 😋

It's pedantic but it bugs me when they start 12 days of Christmas before Christmas Day itself. It's kind of culturally illiterate.

Karatema · 25/11/2022 16:25

Free magazine to either collect or read online!

TheProblemIsMe · 25/11/2022 16:26
