Bed jackets?

I'm so old I can remember these from my childhood 😂.

Is there a modern equivalent? Had a lie-in this morning and my arms were a bit chilly as I browsed Mumsnet read the Observer.

Obviously I could wear long-sleeved pyjamas but would be too hot during the night.

Any suggestions?

I got this but last years version without the hood for my mum but she didn't want it so I use it

I have been browsing at M&S and found this: https://www.marksandspencer.com/teddy-borg-hooded-cardigan/p/clp60553917?intid=mobileappppdpshare

I also have a hoodie in similar fabric.

I'm thinking one of these would be great for my mum as a pseudo joke present.

I haven't read tft. But I put my dressing gown on top of the duvet and put my arms through so I can still reach and drink my tea and use my phone! Blush

As an alternative, put your arms in the sleeves of your dressing gown so the back is over your front: very cosy and effective.

This is what I do, it's brilliant for reading in bed.

Ive just found my mum a vintage one on vinted 😃 It will be great for her reading in bed. Her dressing gowns are too bulky to wear in bed and she'd get in a flap using the straight jacket version. Mentally at least, she might not be physically able to flap 😁 She will either scowl at me for buying something for "old ladies" (she's 83) or she will be quite pleased once she tries it.

I have a bed jacket. My DD thinks it wonderfully vintage, and now wears it around the house!

How about this one? This is like the ones my grandmother had only hers had lace trimmings.

I gave my mum her bed jacket as an early Christmas present and she's both bemused at the blast from the past and touched that I've got her something so thoughtful for reading in bed on cold nights. Thank you for this thread OP Smile

Bed jackets have come into their own with this cold spell.
