Do you eat chocolate every day?

I don’t eat a bar of chocolate very often except for the odd KitKat but I had a chocolate mousse today, a bag of maltesers yesterday and chocolate biscuits the day before! What chocolate do you eat and do you eat some every day?

I have always eaten it everyday :)

At the minute I am eating loads of chocolate. I am pregnant and my taste buds have changed. Normally all my snacks are savoury and I don't really do sweet stuff apart from the odd haribo, but I am eating chocolate several times a week and dp is finding it all very strange.

I did that and had an 11lb baby.

Of course there could be no correlation but for second child I ate no sweet treats at all and baby much smaller.

😃

Jesus, I can be doing without that. I might need to reign it in!

I only eat chocolate occasionally. Last time I was on holiday so August.

I can take or leave it. I much prefer biscuits but can't remember the last time I ate one. Certainly not for a couple of months.

caroleanboneparte · 20/11/2022 10:47

In my premenstrual week I'll have an M&S biscuit in my tea.

I don't like chocolate most of the time but get such cravings that week!

I've read it's due to not having enough iron so I'm trying to eat more red meat when I'm chocolate craving to see if that helps.

Fuwari · 20/11/2022 10:52

No. I don’t like chocolate all that much so I often don’t have it in the house anyway. Very occasional I might fancy a chocolate biscuit or something but I never eat bars of chocolate. I don’t like all that much sweet stuff in general.

It’s funny really that as a kid I ate loads of sweets and sweet stuff, multiple times a day, but once I hit adulthood I wasn’t interested. It makes me wonder if some of these parents who massively restrict sugar for their DCs will find that when they grow up they end up being chocoholics!

MolkosTeenageAngst · 20/11/2022 10:55

i would say I eat something sweet every day (often multiple things) but not always chocolate. Although I like chocolate I would go for carrot cake or lemon drizzle over chocolate cake, shortbread or ginger biscuits over chocolate ones, a bag of jelly babies over a bar of chocolate etc and so I don’t buy chocolate things often, but equally if I’m offered some (eg: at work or by a friend) I wouldn’t say no.

LadyEloise1 · 20/11/2022 11:14

Yes Blush but trying not to.

Yourloss · 20/11/2022 11:20

I do find I go through phases. Sometimes I will eat a whole bar of Green and Blacks and other times I would go a couple of weeks and not get the urge at all.

Are the chocoholics amongst us mainly vegetarian then ? That would make sense if it is lack of iron. I am a believer of eating what you crave .
I wasn’t deprived of chocolate as a child .My mom always had a chocolate bar for me when I got home from school and my grandad worked at Cadburys and bought us lots of cheap chocolate from their staff shop.

LT2 · 20/11/2022 11:57

Never everyday.

When I do have chocolate it's most commonly a hot chocolate or a chocolate biscuit. I would eat chocolate everyday if it was in the house so I try not to buy so I'm not tempted!

WafflesOrIceCream · 20/11/2022 11:58

Nope!Thank god I don't have a sweet tooth.

Ballsaque · 20/11/2022 11:58

Yes

Zipps · 20/11/2022 12:05

Everyday but not loads - a few squares of lindt touch of salt, a fun size bag of maltesers or something caramel from hotel chocolate seems to satisfy any cravings. I never eat sweets, cake or have fizzy drinks though.

I had a friend at uni who blamed her mega sweet tooth and chocolate cravings on her mum, who'd massively restricted sugary things when she was a child.

I,on the other hand, was brought up by chocoholic parents and continue to be one myself Confused

I love chocolate and used to eat a couple of bars a day. I'm now a couple of times a week.

YingMei · 20/11/2022 15:35

I love it but no way do I eat it every day - I would be overweight if I did.

AuntieMarys · 20/11/2022 15:45

No..I don't really like it. I love crisps though

maddy68 · 20/11/2022 15:51

It's about 6 months since I had any chocolate

crosstalk · 20/11/2022 16:09

Haven't eaten chocolate for decades. Like others I'd prefer a twiglet or something savoury. My DSis does love it but has a couple of squares of high cocoa chocolate every day unless it's a special occasion when she can motor through a good deal. She's thin and I'm slim and both eat well so nowt to do with weight.

Muffit · 20/11/2022 16:20

I eat choclate every day,it's my favourite food.I start to eat dark chocolate 70 to 90 percent as well, I just have a few pieces in the evening. When I'm out though, I love choclate puddings.I would happily only eat pudding.I have always loved sweet things. However dark choclate is hopefully healthier .

iloveorange · 20/11/2022 16:25

1/2 square of orange and almond chocolate, Lindt being my favourite brand. I'll have the whole square if I'm feeling greedy. That's every day after lunch.
