Could this be a blood clot?

I maybe worrying about nothing, that is not unheard of!
however, I had had a productive cough for around 8 weeks, was given an inhaler by GP and told I’d need a chest X-ray if it didn’t go away in 2 weeks, it seemed to get better, then it came back, I then tested positive for covid, been testing negative for a few days now.
I have some swelling on my upper shin, under the knee, today while just sat on a chair at work I got an intense sharp pain in the area but thought nothing of it, noticed that a bruise has appeared in the area with swelling and where I felt the pain.
move had some minor cramping, and there’s some mild pain in my foot, but that seems muscular more than anything, and it is very minor. I also broke my foot in august so very well may be related to that. Also it’s not in the same place as the swelling.
mild breathlessness on and off for the past couple of months. But again, very mild.
I can’t even decide if it is actual swelling in my leg or if i’m just imaging it due to anxiety! so im going to add a photo.
my heart rate is high too, consistently between 110 and 125 at rest. It’s been high for a few weeks now though.
I feel like i should speak to the out of hours GP, but then in the back of my mind, I wonder whether this is just anxiety.
I will definitely speak to them, but just wanted opinions on the swelling that I am “perceiving”
It’s the left leg, below the knee. No pain in my calf.

Sara saying 82 oxygen and 32 pulse now in the left leg, Maybe my oximeter is faulty! Surely that can’t be right.

You have done the right thing contacting 111. I have health anxiety too so I know how worried you must be feeling right now. It is best to be on the safe side and get it checked out and it will also put your mind at rest.

Worriedaboutnothingmaybe · 16/11/2022 02:23

The doctor rang and said I have to go to a&e straight away if I don’t want to lose my foot. Seems a bit dramatic! However I am going to go now.

Glad you are getting it looked at tonight. Keep us updated, I will be up all night.

GAW19 · 16/11/2022 02:28

It definitely is not dramatic!
My stepdad slightly knocked the underneath of his foot on the bed side table, it didn't even hurt... 2 weeks later he had the lower half of his leg amputated
I'm so glad you're getting seen to Flowers
Even if there is absolutely nothing wrong, at least you'll know Smile

Worriedaboutnothingmaybe · 16/11/2022 02:35

Maybe it’s related to the fracture I had in august?
I suppose I’ll soon find out. Have had to wake my 16 year old up to give him instructions to get my 11 year old to school tomorrow. I feel really guilty about leaving them.

She said I have compromised blood flow for whatever reason, but that both a break and covid can increase the risks.

Sats lower 😕 ordering a taxi now! I’m going to be in for such a long wait! Oh I do hate a&e.

I'm guessing you will be seen quite urgently.

Worriedaboutnothingmaybe · 16/11/2022 02:46

@RosieRooster83 12 hour wait the last time I went, apparently it’s 15 hours tonight. So we shall see. I’m supposed to be in work at 10 am.

Goodness me, hopefully it will be different tonight though. Might not be as busy and I think they will want to look at your leg and do tests fairly quickly.

Worriedaboutnothingmaybe · 16/11/2022 02:48

This is is high too. There’s always the chance that all my equipment is faulty. I don’t usually use any of it because it just causes anxiety!
9 minute wait for the taxi so I’ll be there soon. I really don’t know what to say at reception, I have a tendency to minimise things for some reason.

Tell them about the slight swelling and redness in your leg and that you were told by 111 to come to A&E.

ChristmasAtHogwarts · 16/11/2022 02:49

Good luck for a and e I hope you’re seen fast x

RosieRooster83 · 16/11/2022 02:51

Also give them those blood pressure and pulse readings. Let us know if the readings are the same with hospital equipment. How is your anxiety?

Worriedaboutnothingmaybe · 16/11/2022 02:53

My anxiety was OK until now! Now I’m very anxious.

Keep remembering that you are going to the best place possible with highly trained staff who can help you. Is it a long taxi ride from your home?

Worriedaboutnothingmaybe · 16/11/2022 02:56

Around a 30 to 40 minute taxi ride, at this time of night most likely 30.

You have my sympathies op, best of luck with that weight.
Funnily enough I went into A&E yesterday for similar symptoms but a lot milder, I tend to have health anxiety so really didn't want to go in because I felt like I would be wasting everyone's time but I just couldn't get the worry out of my head so went in the end. The gp said that the only way to get tested is to go to a&e. I was slightly at risk for pulmonary embolism since I gave birth 7 weeks ago.

I was seen within 3 hours of going in and home after 4 hours.
They ran a d dimer blood test and did a chest x-ray and all was fine. It was just my anxiety which has been worse since I had my baby. I felt terrible about wasting everyone's time, I had to leave my baby with my mom because DH was at work.

simplesimply · 16/11/2022 02:58

*should've said wait not weight

simplesimply · 16/11/2022 03:03

Also when I went to a&e I had this weird feeling where I obviously didn't want to have a pulmonary embolism but I also didn't want to leave the hospital feeling like I had wasted everyone's time.
It's still necessary to go with your symptoms especially with something like pulmonary embolism where it is asymptomatic a lot of the time so you don't want to miss it.
The staff were lovely and didn't make me feel bad about wasting their time.
