Teen bathroom blocked sink hell!

My dc have sole use of a bathroom as I have an ensuite. I do enforce regular cleaning of it but it has come to light that the sink is completely blocked. Water isn't draining at all. I have used soda and vinegar to no avail, though loads of delightful black bits are now swimming about in the water. I've also used hot water and washing up liquid, with the same result.

Any other recommendations? I've bought fairly expensive products in the past that have done nothing for less serious cases than this and have always had success with the above, but have obviously acted on past cases a lot sooner!

Help - please!

Can someone please explain how to use the £1 wire snake thing. I bought one from tesco last time my shower was blocked and couldn't figure it out.

Don't know about the Tesco one but with mine you just have to rotate it clockwise. It screws into the hair etc in the blockage, then you can pull it out.

It does need there to be enough gunk for it to screw into. I think it works best with hair.

Ive never found Mr Muscle any good tbh. However, this stuff has never ever failed to unblock a sink, bath or shower for me... www.wilko.com/en-uk/domestos-sink-pipe-unblocker-500ml/p/0233269

Thank you. I probably gave up trying too quickly, I'm very impatient. Will give it another go next time. If I can get it to work it'll save me loads as I have to regularly pour a bottle of Mr Muscle in it.
And yes there's always lots of hair in there thanks to post covid hair loss!

Soda crystals and a kettle of boiling water have cleared many a blockage here. I think I'd be buying branded drain unblocker if that doesn't work.

I second this.

Cut teeth into a long cable tie, twist it slightly so that the teeth sread out a bit. Get the thing down the hole and push/ twist a few times. Usually very good for trapping hair and being able to lift it out of the pipes.

Is anyone else getting shades of “Ross creating a paste from lotion and talcum powder” with all the suggestions for what OP shoves down her already blocked sink?

@coffeerevelsrule Did you manage to unblock it?
