I've never seen this before - how have I missed it?! So has he been trying to sell it for years, then, with no success? Does he keep it up on eBay permanently or just re-list it every November, in the desperate hope that this might be the year? Why all the capitals and constant random throwing in of the word 'Britain'? And the grammar is so bizarre, regardless of what his first language is.
I like the bit about it being remembered for years in the future; yes, but possibly not quite in the way you envisage....
It's obviously been a real labour of love and he has indeed used a lot of skill and imagination, but.... you're just left wondering.... why????? It's always difficult, when you've slowly sunk a huge amount of money into something that's meant so much to you, to come to the realisation that it's not really worth much at all to a stranger.
Apart from anything else, the 'talking point' that it represents surely comes from him unveiling his special creation and then proceeding to bore the pants off enthuse and delight his guests with all the intricate details of his creative journey whether they want to hear it or not. It doesn't really have the same 'making-memories' cachet when all you have to say in answer to all their polite questions is "I dunno, I just bought it off some bloke on eBay instead of getting the kids any presents this year".
