What size are your DS12/13s feet??

Hi,
Just ordered the 2nd pair of school shoes for this year (Since September 7th) he also had 4 pairs last year. His feet seem to grow quicker than the rest of him and he’s already a 10.5.

He also wears them out so quickly, playing football at break and lunch just generally shoving his feet it to them without undoing laces (which I constantly moan at him about)

At £60/£70 a time I’m starting to think is it really worth buying Clarkes shoes?? When are his feet likely to stop growing?

@GoodnightJude1 both a little over 6'2 so not terribly tall!

🙄

I really don’t think Clarkes shoes are as sturdy as they used to be. They were always seen to be the best and they’d last forever….sadly not in this house they don’t!

DS 2 started secondary school at age 12, in a pair of mens size 12. Also, he was 6ft tall.

queenofthewild · 09/11/2022 14:56

DS is in a size 2. I have a feeling that at some point his feet are going to grow madly, and I'm hoping it will be over the summer!

LittleGreenDuck · 09/11/2022 15:02

My 13 year old DS is only a size four, but then he's not even five feet tall yet. Though he was a size three in August, so perhaps the growth spurt is starting.

Kitesk · 09/11/2022 15:06

Following my DS is nearly 8 years old and size 6 in trainers!

HereLiesBetelgeuse · 09/11/2022 15:25

3.5 feet and less than 5 foot tall.

Why do people on here claim 6'2 isn't 'terribly tall'? It's about 8 inches taller than average height for a man. It's clearly very tall

3sthemagicnumber · 09/11/2022 15:28

DS 13 has size 7.5 feet and is only 5ft tall. His feet grow fast, but he still wears shoes out faster than he can outgrow them!

AriettyHomily · 09/11/2022 15:37

I don't have a ds but have climbing, football playing girls. I haven't bought Clarks since they were about 6. They wear DMs now.

c3pu · 09/11/2022 15:41

DS is 12, 5'1", he was a size 8 last I checked - he needs new school shoes though so will be checking tonight!

Because they're weirdly proud about something that they have no control over.

BertieBotts · 09/11/2022 15:44

Enormous. Adult sized. Luckily we don't have uniform to contend with but trainers are expensive too!

Bluevelvetsofa · 09/11/2022 16:47

DS is just 14, 6 ft, with size 12 feet.

ChiefWiggumsBoy · 09/11/2022 16:50

I am SO lucky. Twins age 13, turn 14 in January. On the cusp of puberty, but their feet haven't grown since last year - they're both a size 6. They just fit into the child sizes.

Both are about 5 ft 3ish. A little shorter than me at 5 ft 4 (and a half!)

Swedishmeatball · 09/11/2022 16:52

13 year old DS, 5ft7, size 10 feet. I am so sick of tripping over the enormous shoes (for school five pairs: black school shoes, Astro turf shoes for hockey, rugby boots, football boots, PE trainers and then casual shoes for the weekend).

Traumatik · 09/11/2022 16:54

DS was 6’2 with size 14 feet by year 9.
I didn’t think he’d grow anymore - he did!
Currently 6’4 and in size 15s. Shoes are so expensive and difficult to find!

WorldLeaderPretend · 09/11/2022 16:54

My son is 21, 5 ft 11 and has size 6.5 tiny feet
My daughter is 12, almost 5 ft 1 and hers are already size 6....

GADDay · 09/11/2022 17:05

DS1 had size 13s at age 12. DS2 size 11 (now size 13). Both 6'5" at 18. DD size 6 and 5'5.

Nah, not proud just used to it. My boys are very tall but it's just normal - I don't see them as particularly tall because that's just what they are. I don't notice it.

kimchifix · 09/11/2022 17:16

Another one who's DS's shoe size was 13 at 13 and now at 18 it's c.14.5 - 15 depending on the shoe. So I'd say your DS probably has some growing to do still and you can expect another couple of sizes. His feet will stop before the rest of him ime! My DS 10 is already an 8 - it's expensive.

DarkKarmaIlama · 09/11/2022 17:17

My nearly 13 year old son is a size 3.

ohforthelife · 09/11/2022 17:18

My DS is much older now but if it helps, he was a size 10 by age 12 but his feet didn't grow any more!

DarkKarmaIlama · 09/11/2022 17:19

@MissDollyMix

My year 8 son has only just gone into a 3. Guess what he still managed to lose a school shoe on the school minibus after a school football match.

Turns out his friend put it in his bag so there must be a few of them around.

NellBeau · 09/11/2022 17:29

I’ve got a 13 year old dinky DS under 5’ and size 4 feet. He keeps asking when he’s gonna get his growth spurt! I’m not sure he will, he’s been tiny since birth.
