I’m 3 weeks PP and in the thick of the newborn trenches. Obviously love my baby but keep thinking wtf have I done😂 when did you start to actually enjoy motherhood?

I've always enjoyed it though hated certain aspects like breastfeeding and severely disrupted sleep.
The secret is to enjoy your own life and let the baby tag along.

I found newborn to be horrific - physically, mentally, emotionally. I remember sobbing as we gave DD her first bath and getting DH to promise he would never ask me to have another 😂 I’m 30 weeks pregnant now and DD is 3.5.

6 months is a nice age. They sleep for longer, eat solid food and feel chunky - they also smile/laugh/play.

Loved 1-3 - toddlers are hilarious and they talk a bit so they can tell you what’s wrong. The things they say can be absolutely brutal though! 😂

My kids are 6 and 9 and it’s the best it has been so far. They can dress, bathe, and feed themselves, are interesting to talk to, and are actually fun to take on days out and holidays. I think the primary years are great! Not entirely without issues, but I do get my sleep now and am not bored out of my skull with endless mindless drudgery. I’m dreading the teen years, though, so am trying to enjoy this stage while it lasts.
