I’ve heard good things about the Shark ones.

DramaAlpaca · 06/11/2022 13:38

It depends what you want / need. Upright, cylinder, handheld, bagged, not bagged...

I have a cylinder Miele Cat and Dog C3 which is ancient but still going strong. I highly recommend it.

Bagged Sebo, great suction, seven years old. If it packed up tomorrow would buy another.

Don't like bagless hoovers, always need emptying as they hardly hold anything and too much faff with filters.

pyjamafashionista · 06/11/2022 13:52

I bought into the hype regarding Shark and Dyson. Both were useless 😒 I found neither to have great suction power and I felt I'd been duped into following a fad. Without a shadow of a doubt the best for reliability and suction is Henry imo.

Oh Lordy!!! Do not believe what you hear! They are bloody awful! I got the animal one so it would have super strong suction.... it's crap! 🫣

Totally agree! Rubbish suction, constantly needed emptying and always spat crap out on the floor 😑🙄

Bemyclementine · 06/11/2022 13:54

I have a Henry but couldn't recommend him. Although I like the long hose for the high ceilings (cobwebs)

All my family have sharks but I find them unwieldy.

I had a Dyson stick cordless which was great until it died, now can't afford to replace.

Dreikanter · 06/11/2022 13:58

Miele - I have the basic one and it’s excellent.

SpinningFloppa · 06/11/2022 14:01

I always wanted a dyson bought it and hated it, not going to get a shark don’t want one; Henry was the best I had so going to get another one.

TimetohittheroadJack · 06/11/2022 14:01

Not a shark. It gets blocked every single time I use ours.

Lookingformymarbles · 06/11/2022 14:02

We splashed out on this Miele bagless cat & dog hoover last year and it's the best we've had so far.

It beats the Dyson (& others) by a long shot but it is fairly heavy to carry upstairs so usually get someone else to carry it up, then suggest they do the hoovering whilst they're there anyway!

MoonlightMedicine · 06/11/2022 14:03

Henry. He's a workhorse and has outlasted our Dyson & Shark animal which was rubbish and like others have said spits stuff out everywhere and needs cleaning and emptying all the damn time!

Tootyfilou · 06/11/2022 14:03

I have a Samsung cordless. Its fantastic.

HappydaysArehere · 06/11/2022 14:07

Best vacuum cleaner I have ever had is a Sebo.

BobbyBobbyBobby · 06/11/2022 14:10

Henry but you have at least two, one for upstairs.

yikesanotherbooboo · 06/11/2022 14:11

I have a SEBO and my DD has our old SEBO. They are very reliable and both over 10 years old..We have a Bosch Athlet in our weekend property which I love but the property is small , it's battery is coming to the end of its life (6 years) and it will need replacing before long so am interested in this thread. To add, SEBO is heavy for going up and downstairs .

Bluevelvetsofa · 06/11/2022 14:26

I’ve got a Beko cordless. It has lights so you can see into the corners, a range of tools and an extendable hose for curtain poles, ceiling corners etc. It was probably the cheapest of the vacuums at the time. The only negative is that the cylinder is small, but it is t a hardship to empty it regularly.

Mercurial123 · 06/11/2022 14:27

Miele

Yes.
My mother in law's is 30 years old.
I'm waiting for our GTec to die (I really don't like it),so we can get one.

Blossomandbee · 06/11/2022 15:00

I like Dysons. I tried both a Shark upright and Shark cylinder after reading endless recommendations and both were rubbish on carpet.
Henry's are good workhorses but I find them awkward to use and didn't get carpets very clean.

Agree, I had one whilst living overseas and it's by far the best vacuum cleaner I've ever had!

Marilla1966 · 06/11/2022 15:10

Bought a bagged Sebo last month. Absolutely love it. It’s an upright with only a couple of attachments……old school but great.

ThingsIhavelearnt · 06/11/2022 15:12

Mercurial123 · 06/11/2022 14:27

Miele

This

had one for 15 years only replaced it As wanted bagless fully expect this one to last 15 years plus

we have a house full of Labradors and it cleans the carpet throughly !

Kindofcrunchy · 06/11/2022 15:14

We've got a Henry but I can't get it upstairs. You definitely need two but they take up so much space!
