Posh hotels in the UK (dreaming)

My lovely DH has a landmark birthday next year and I've been idly dreaming of somewhere posh I could whisk him away for a couple of nights.

Obviohave no idea if I'll be able to afford anything by the time it rolls around, but it's nice to daydream regardless! So if anyone has stayed anywhere fancy and rated it, and especially places which do fab food, I'd be really grateful to hear them 😊

One from me to start, we have stayed at The Gilpin in the Lakes many years ago - that was amazing! Food, room, service, the whole shebang!!

Genuinely surprised people like Le Manoir, grounds are beautiful but the rest of the stay is overpriced given the standard. Much nicer hotels.

I love The Landmark for an affordable break. Also Coworth Park is lovely.

In the scheme of things its actually quite cheap (compared to some others on the thread I mean).

It really wasn't meant to be a meow moment I promise. I was thinking £700 per night Inc dinner and b and b was actually quite cheap compared to £2500 at Le Manoir.

If you recall I actually said I would make a note of it because it looked so nice.
