The 100, when the adults are volunteering to die to help save the rest of the ark.

Guardians of the galaxy 2, when the ravagers come out to give Yondu a proper send off.

Every time I see it. Every time I tear up a little

Fresh prince - will asking his uncle Phil why his dad doesn't want him

Absolutely this, it's making me well up thinking about it.

Also, Jason Segal/Marshall in how I met your mother when Lily pulls up in the taxi to tell him his dad has died. Not usually a fan of the show but that was brilliant acting.

Hbh17 · 30/10/2022 20:09

The end of Paddington 2, when Aunt Lucy comes to London.

Agree with the About time scene on the beach - wish I could do that with my mum who died when I was young.

One that gets me is when Dr Cox realises he's at Ben's funeral on Scrubs. And also the episode when the lady has a brain tumour and can hear signing - the scene when she's about to go to surgery and is scared - always gets me!

ClearButtons · 30/10/2022 20:51

Oh and it's A Sin - cried at so many moments in that. Very sad.

Plus Normal people when they are having the talk about him moving abroad.

paradyning · 30/10/2022 20:53

My Love, my life in Mamma Mia 2
Even before they start bloody singing I go

AutumnDaysConkers · 30/10/2022 20:55

Ethel and Ernest - The ending leaves me in proper sobbing tears. Every time!

badboymum · 30/10/2022 20:58

Only fools and horses when Rodney gets married and del looks completely lost and they play holding back the years. Reminds me of childhood and evokes so much emotion, I can't listen to that song without getting choked

A couple from Imspector Morse: one from the end of theepisode set in Australia when Morse asks Robbie to go for a beer but Robbie's already booked his flight home and Morse is left on his own. And obviously when he dies in the final episode.

Also the ending of The Ghost and Mrs Muir, and most of Dark Victory with Bette Davis.

PicaNewName · 30/10/2022 21:22

The scene in the Last of the Mohicans when the young couple jump off a cliff to the bagpipe music.
Hearing the music only can set me off now.

Rocklobstershell · 30/10/2022 21:34

The scene where Chidi and Elenor spend their last night together in The Good place and Chidi talks about a wave being part of the Ocean.

Bingo dreaming about the planets in Bluey and hearing her mum’s voice saying that she’s always there for her even if she can’t see her.

darisdet · 30/10/2022 22:54

In Braveheart the scene where his wife is killed, and the ending as he dies.

The ending of the Red Shoes where Lermontov appears on the stage to make the announcement.

charabang · 30/10/2022 23:30

The end of Atonement where it ìs revealed that Cecelia and Robbie were never reunited. He died at Dunkirk and she died in a tube station during a bombing.

Dd (9) has a bloody heart of stone.

We are binge watching Harry Potter as she recently got into the books…

So we’ve just seen Dobby die. Did she shed a tear? Not a drop

Chuck How to train your dragon 2 on for her. If she can get through that without crying then you're right, she's dead inside.

Bloody "Million Dollar Baby" of kids movies that is.

Derek.

YES! Even though he was toxic as hell and Meredith was better off without him!

Tillow4ever · 31/10/2022 00:55

The episode of Grey's Anatomy where first Doc dies and then Denny dies out of nowhere too!

Joyce dying on Buffy.

Tara dying on Buffy.

Derek dying on Grey's Anatomy.

Alex's letters on Grey's Anatomy.

The scene in The Handmaid's Tale where June is reunited with Hannah but then they have to take her away again. Also the scene at the end of season 1 where she's locked in the car screaming for Hannah.

Grey's Anatomy episode "into you like a train" when Bonnie realised she will die.

Fred's death on Angel.

Doyle's death on Angel.

Pretty much anything that involves a child getting taken from their parents, or a parent being taken from their child.

Tillow4ever · 31/10/2022 00:57

Oh and the scene in Titanic where the mum is ticking the children into bed, telling them they just need to wait for their turn to get off.

Even thinking about that one gets me welling up.

Tillow4ever · 31/10/2022 00:58

*tucking

RemindMeAgain · 31/10/2022 01:11

Anything involving Tee and Mo, especially the ‘big boy boots’ and the ‘go to sleep’ songs.

The episode of Britains Got Talent where a young girl who had been injured in the terrorist attack at Manchester Arena was dancing in her wheel chair as part of a dance troop, then at the end she stood up. Argh, I was in total floods.

BobbyBobbyBobby · 31/10/2022 01:15

I ain’t think I have actually cried at anything but Old Yeller has some sad scenes.

RiverSkater · 31/10/2022 01:44

Beth dying in Little Women the Winona Ryder version. 🥲

Hawkins001 · 31/10/2022 01:52

At the moment, maverick, when he is about to be shot down with rooster when they have to gain altitude, and the enemy plane is locking on, and maverick says sorry goose,

MrsMarkRonson · 31/10/2022 02:40

Not a tv scene, but watching the clip form 80's of Nicholas Winton meeting the children he saved during the holocaust always makes me tear up. (Not sure if link will work?)

JackyinaTracky · 31/10/2022 07:30

The Bridges of Madison County. When Clint Eastwood drives off in the rain. Actually I cry all the way through that film!

UnfinishedUsernam · 31/10/2022 09:07

Uncle Bryn reading the letter that Stacey's dad wrote for her on her wedding day. As someone who lost her own dad as a kid it really hit me hard. I have to fast forward it if not watching alone.

Phoebe saying her goodbyes to the triplets. "Well, if you're gonna cry..."

Derek the TV show.
1 when he reunites with his dad.
2 when he stays with Ivor the little dog as the vet puts him to sleep. "Sorry I don't have the right kidneys Ivor".
3 when the new caretaker takes the pensioners last fiver when she asks him to post a birthday card.

The Color Purple.
1 when Mister tries to rape Nettie and kicks her out when she resists. Poor Celie.
2 when Shug makes up with her dad.
3 Celie reuniting with Nettie after Mister pays for her and her children to return from Africa.

The Green Mile. When the guards are openly crying at John's execution.

Forrest Gump. When he reunites with Jenny at the reflecting lake and when he reads Forrest Junior's letter at her grave.
