I totally thought it was a near the knuckle joke but it starts off really serious and heartfelt talking about the other actors so I'm not sure. Maybe should leave the "jokes" to actual comedians and script writers?

He's always had a lot of support and people sticking up for him with what he's been through but I think he's used up everyone's good will now.

Isn't this the typical effect of drink/drugs though? My brother is like this and drinks quite heavily but then he's also Schizophrenic so I can't say what role drink plays. I do know nothing is ever his fault, sounds a bit like MP.

Memoirs like this are always such a bad idea!

He's coming across as a total narcissist.

Remarking repeatedly on how good he looked and how he was the funniest member of the cast, the only one who was brought into the script writing and the one to influence how future generations spoke.

Noting that even when being rushed to the hospital with a burst colon, doctors had been made aware that a VIP guest was coming in. It's of no relevance other than MP would not dream of skipping that part.

Assuming that Cedars Sinai wouldn't have him because he was too important and they couldn't possibly have someone so important die in their building so refused to admit him on that basis.

Spilling the beans that Julia Roberts pursued him and changed the tone of their messages to sexual.

Telling everyone that a named married woman made out with him while her husband was present and unaware.

He's a thoroughly narcissistic, self-absorbed, shallow, ungentlemanly character who will say whatever he wants without a moment's thought for how it affects others.

I completely agree. I watched the Diane Sawyer interview and it was a load of self pitying narcissistic BS. MP has also made some really arrogant comments about how women are only after him for his money and that he wants to meet a financially independent woman (but presumably, she also has to be gorgeous, slim and young enough to be his daughter, considering that online video of him trying to pick up a 19 year old girl). No mention of his raging addiction being a factor in the break down of his relationships and what a nightmare he must have been to live with!- nope, its all due to women being gold diggers!- thats the reason he cant find love plays tiny violin

I may get flamed for this, but I am tired of all these misery memoirs about extremely privileged people who become addicts and then spend the rest of their lives whining about it. More memoirs about people who keep it together, work hard and look after themselves, please.

It was a vile thing to say considering that KR has been through massive personal tragedy himself, losing his baby and girlfriend soon afterwards. KR is known for being one of the most generous and kind actors in Hollywood, always helping out the crew financially and setting up charities for children and the homeless. MP on the other hand appears to be a giant whiny narcissist, regardless of his addiction.

Yep! Keanu does amazing work for charity quietly and without wanting recognition.

It could be a joke as everyone says Keanu is immortal.
River, Keanu and Perry were all friends/ in the same social circle back in the day so it could be an inside joke or fued from back then.

Jesus, Perry sounds so narcissistic.
Perhaps the copious amounts of drugs added to the 'original thinking'. Maybe that's why they are dead, rather than being 'too beautiful for this world'. I hate this romanticism of serious drug consumption. Its a seedy, virus ridden World of abuse, oppression and taking advantage of people. It's a miracle Joachim Phoenix didn't tell Perry there's no glamour in OD's.
