I can’t believe it’s closing!! It was a standing ovation all three times I’ve been and I’ve seen a lot of theatre productions and that hasn’t happened before!! Totally recommend it to anyone.

We went as a family xmas present and it truly was beautiful. Possibly my favourite show I've seen!

FartOutLoudDay · 31/12/2022 08:52

It’s going on tour Feb 2024, so all is not lost!

LlynTegid · 31/12/2022 08:59

One of my aunts was one of the people who was on a plane which was diverted, and spent a few days staying with one of the people in the town, having meals in a local church hall. Never got to the large family reunion which was the purpose of the trip.

Part of me would want to see the musical to see if in a way my aunt is portrayed, the other part would not as she died a few years afterwards and I miss her.

ButterflyBiscuit · 31/12/2022 10:36

Lyn it really does give a sense of some of the kindness and compassion of people as well as some of the difficulties it all inevitably brought.

I think you'd see aspects of your aunts story in it. It has some sad poignant moments but it does t allow you to be sad for long as then sweeps you up into the next thing. I imagine it would remind you of her a lot 😔.

We definitely plan to go again when it tours (hopefully nearer us!)

HideTheCroissants · 31/12/2022 12:23

I’ve seen it three times! An amazing show. It’s available on Apple+ to stream at the moment too.

OnceAgainWithFeeling · 31/12/2022 12:24

Going next week. Can’t wait.

akissbeforebed · 31/12/2022 17:55

Saw it on Wednesday with my DD who wasn't even born when it happened. So glad it's going on tour as I'd love to see it again.

MrsDanversGlidesAgain · 08/01/2023 13:12

Went to the last matinee yesterday. Full house, an incredible energy and one of the writers came on stage and made a speech after the standing ovation at the end.

And it's touring in 2024 😊

Was the percussionist that collapsed on Thursday back? The one to the left of the stage as you look at it.

ButterflyBiscuit · 08/01/2023 16:56

We will sign up to see it again in 2024 as soon as dates are released!

Unicorn2022 · 08/01/2023 18:09

I'm sure I read that for the last shows they were giving all the audience a pack of merchandise, some of it exclusive. Wonder if that's true.

OnedayIwillfeelfree · 08/01/2023 18:11

I heard that it will be touring! Excellent that more people will get to see it without having to travel to London!

OnceAgainWithFeeling · 08/01/2023 18:12

According to Twitter they did, yes.

They were handing out badges, didn't see merchandise

ButterflyBiscuit · 08/01/2023 20:14

We got a badge a week or so ago of my favourite one (bass) .

I dont get the queuing? I thought they'd sold out? Or did they save some for the day?

That’s him. (Ray.)

So glad.

I'm bumping this as I've just bought tickets for March.
The website says the show is 1hr 40mins with no interval. I won't drink all day but what if you actually needed a wee?

Obviously you can go for a wee if needed but if you go before the start of the production I doubt you'll need of want to go during the show.

You'll be far too busy being engrossed in what is happening and before you know it, it will be over. I would say I'd you think you'll need to nip out to book tickets accordingly as it's a total pain when for others when they need to move to let you out and back in again.

JustDanceAddict · 01/06/2023 09:41

I’ve seen it twice and love it so much!! Prob my favourite show (saw it on TV too!).

gogohmm · 01/06/2023 10:05

@MrsDrDear

Many musics have 90 minutes in a half. The opera is worse. You'll be so enthralled you won't think about the toilet. It's an amazing show, it's coming here next august so might need to see it again (I saw the original run)

MrsDrDear · 01/06/2023 13:22

I've booked end row seats, it was more for my 80yr old dad but I'm sure he'll be ok.

I skipped quickly out and back in again! It was no problem. I was end of row so didn't disturb anyone ;-)

ButterflyBiscuit · 01/06/2023 13:25

We're thinking of going again but tickets aren't yet released for our venue!

MrsDanversGlidesAgain · 07/06/2023 11:07

I have a ticket for October 2024. Going to have to go to Wimbledon as that's the closest theatre to me but worth it.
