Currently laying on the sofa after a glorious beef panang curry and currently deciding which is the top tier curry

i think it’s a beef panang but could possibly be a massaman 🤔

OP posts:

Lamb saag or beef rendang

Purpleavocado · 21/10/2022 21:17

Chicken tikka masala or chicken korma but I'm a wimp.

EgonsShell · 21/10/2022 21:26

@pavillion1 I wasn't inviting you to eat it.

catsonahottinroof · 21/10/2022 21:29

I like all different types of curry, but from good Indian takeaways, prefer the richer chicken tikka types, or chicken methi. Like them with an onion bhaji and mushroom pulao rice.
For thai curries, the most delicious I've ever had is a tofu red thai curry, the shop I used to get it from no longer exists and I've never found better. Also like green chicken curry.

I’m not a massive paneer fan, never have been but I’m tempted to give it another go now 🤔

Paneer seems to be different everywhere. In London it's often dry rather than in a sauce, and crispy and amazing. I moved to Kent and everyone seems to just soak it in massive soggy chunks and it's not as nice.

@Soubriquet Your attitude is literally the reason prejudice, bias and ignorance exist.
Bravo.

"Literally'! Love that. There's you told, @Soubriquet 😂

I love Jamie Oliver's My Mate Pete's lamb curry. It's quite faffy so I always double up and freeze but it's worth it!

maddiemookins16mum · 21/10/2022 21:35

One with a coconut or almond background.

Calandor · 21/10/2022 21:36

Fish masala always

FindingMeno · 21/10/2022 21:37

Chicken korma, or lamb korma if I'm feeling adventurous.
Also used to love a vesta curry.

Starlitexpress · 21/10/2022 21:42

From the takeaway, chicken dhansak as I don't make it at home.

At home, butter chicken (makhani), specifically the one that was on James Martin's Saturday show by Dipna Anand, he said it was one of the best things he had ever tasted and it only takes 30 minutes!

Am already looking up some of the dishes on here, always happy to add to my repertoire!

MulberryMoon · 21/10/2022 21:42

I meant veg dopiaza not dansak

AlexandraPeppernose · 21/10/2022 21:44

Lamb biryani

MalbecMakesMeHappy · 21/10/2022 21:44

Prawn Patia

Thai = penang
Indian = shatkora

@Purpleavocado
You need to try a proper home made chicken or beef shatkora. Oh my word, you don't know what you're missing out on. The restaurant curries aren't a patch on the real thing.

allfurcoatnoknickers · 21/10/2022 22:10

A very spicy Lamb Bhuna with garlic naan. Delicious.

pavillion1 · 21/10/2022 22:11

EgonsShell · 21/10/2022 21:26

@pavillion1 I wasn't inviting you to eat it.

I wouldn't attend

TinaTeaspoons · 21/10/2022 22:12

Chicken madras with pilau rice and all the trimmings such as nanny bread, onion bhaji and poppadoms

TinaTeaspoons · 21/10/2022 22:12

naan bread!

Holidayexpert · 22/10/2022 18:27

We’re having a takeaway tonight.Chicken saag, Channa masala, butter paneer, aloo saag, lemon rice, and garlic naan!

Bloody love Indian food, whether it’s a good take away, an excellent restaurant ( Sanscruti in Liverpool and Manchester) or a supermarket one.
Waitrose do a gorgeous Goan fish curry!
It’s my favourite food in the world!

Roominmyhouse · 22/10/2022 18:42

I love a lamb saag/palak (depending where you order it!) or a brinjal Bhaji.

As far as supermarket the Charlie Bigham chicken tikka masala is tasty, there just needs to be more of it!

Holidayexpert · 22/10/2022 18:44

@Roominmyhouse Agree with the Charlie Bingham one being tasty, but yeah, not nearly enough of it and very expensive!
I only get those meals if they are on Yellow sticker.

antipodeancanary · 22/10/2022 18:46

Lamb passanda, mushroom rice, peshwari naan and Bombay potatoes. No. You need not touch it. Get your own.
