Currently laying on the sofa after a glorious beef panang curry and currently deciding which is the top tier curry

i think it’s a beef panang but could possibly be a massaman 🤔

Veg dhansak

BoopK · 21/10/2022 20:40

I love all curries, I'm a commited carnivore but I think my favourite would be a really good Indian daal, real comfort food

IHopeYouStepOnALegPiece · 21/10/2022 20:45

In case that's not clear enough for you, to be so reductive reeks of arrogance and prejudice towards a culture and cuisine that isn't your own

you have literally no idea what my culture is 😂 carry on!

No I don't, but whatever your culture is, it clearly isn't one that features curries as a staple, so your statement is moot!

@midsomermurderess You literally referred to me as a tit, don't hurl insults if you can't handle them back.

@Marmee53 No, you're not the only one. Solidarity.

Holy crap. Mumsnet can really be pathetic at times.

I cannot believe there is actually an argument over a curry.

Grow the fuck up

iklboo · 21/10/2022 20:58

Chicken tikka Makul. Really rich & tasty but not too spicy.

3littleloves · 21/10/2022 20:59

Definitely a chicken dopiaza! Thanks OP I'm trying to behave this weekend and now currently craving an Indian takeaway 🤣

KitKatKit · 21/10/2022 20:59

@Soubriquet Your attitude is literally the reason prejudice, bias and ignorance exist.
Bravo.

MulberryMoon · 21/10/2022 21:00

Prawn puri and Veg dansak with stuffed paratha

Soubriquet · 21/10/2022 21:00

Say what?! I’m telling you to stop having an argument over a fucking curry. I’m not being biased, prejudiced or ignorant.

You are being a controlling gate keeper

Crikey. It’s a curry thread

IHopeYouStepOnALegPiece · 21/10/2022 21:02

I’m not a massive paneer fan, never have been but I’m tempted to give it another go now 🤔

Love a dhansak!

IHopeYouStepOnALegPiece · 21/10/2022 21:05

I like a Dhansak but it’s very often a prawn one on offer and I’m not a prawn curry fan

nor a fish curry fan but was recently made a Thai red salmon curry that was the freaking bomb

A Indian restaurant where I grew up in Australia made a curry called a beef nisha. (Note the beef because Australia just does not give a fuck)

It was fantastic. Hot and sour and tomato-ey and a touch of sweetness

I've never been able to find a recipe or replicate it

pavillion1 · 21/10/2022 21:13

King prawn bengal is just lovely but I won't reheat a prawn take away so only have it when we eat out .. if take out I always have chicken jalfrezi but I do have to have a taste of my sons tikka masala ..
we are very fortunate to live in the same village as an award winning restaurant. It's made me quite a snob when going for an Indian x
