Please please let her be gone at 1.30.

Fraser Nelson thinks Sunak will be PM this time next week.

AnybodyAnywhere · 20/10/2022 13:53

She got in by having a lot of backing from the rich. Compiled a budget (with Kwarteng) the gave a great opportunity for those with enough capital and ‘in the know’ to make a shedload of money. Now she’s bailed.
Go figure 🤷🏻‍♀️

She hasn't exactly lost much, has she? Liz Truss entitled to £115K per year from taxpayer for the rest of her life
Seems a good deal for one so unable. What a world!

I might be wrong but I think she needed to be in office for two months min. to qualify for that.

FrizzledFrazzle · 20/10/2022 13:55

I don't understand.

How come she will be replaced in a week with the MPs choosing the next leader, but Boris faffed around for another 3 months while Tory party members chose his replacement?

Why couldn't we have had that last time?

TammyOne · 20/10/2022 13:56

Omnishambles x 100000

Gazelda · 20/10/2022 13:56

I remember in the heady days of post-referendum there were loads of social media posts commenting about how we must tell students taking politics at A level/degree that they mustn't get carried away and think that its always this exciting.

Little did we know...

Although 'excitement' isn't the right word now. Depressing, embarassing, horrific, shambolic might be a better fit.

MrsMAgain · 20/10/2022 13:56

No wonder she kept her running shoes on.

ThistleSifter · 20/10/2022 13:56

I also would support Charles Walker - he was also against the lockdowns and the way the rules were aggressively applied. He seems passionate, articulate, principled and not afraid to criticise the various shitshows over the past couple of years. Talks a lot of sense.

Holidayexpert · 20/10/2022 13:57

Good riddance, you useless fucking imbecile! Why aren’t people on the streets? These Tory bastards need to be pulled kicking and screaming out of office!!

uncomfortablydumb53 · 20/10/2022 13:57

The money I have left after paying my bills is on Rishi Sunak to replace her

asblindasabat · 20/10/2022 13:57

does Anyone know if Therese Coffey will now lose her position as Health Secretary and Deputy PM given Liz is going?

shadypines · 20/10/2022 13:57

Quelle suprise.. she's come out bleating the same old things on repeat.
Every time she mentions Putin's name ( which is a lot) he must be having a right old laugh at the chaos he's causing.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 20/10/2022 13:57

I think it will be Mordaunt.

GoSomewhereThatDoes · 20/10/2022 13:58

I suspect Boris is feeling pretty smug about now.

ptsdmum · 20/10/2022 13:58

@uncomfortablydumb53

I would do the same, but I don't have any money left after bills these days!

JennyForeigner · 20/10/2022 13:59

Voerendaal · 20/10/2022 13:53

I don’t trust Jeremy Hunt. I just worry he will wait in the wings for the right moment. He is awful

He's calculated that it's hard to sack him as CX having played nicely and only had a couple of days in role. Better the bird in the hand and all that...

Skyellaskerry · 20/10/2022 13:59

Total disrespect for democracy, the arrogance of the Tory party loud and clear. That LT was chosen is ALL down to them and their leader process. They are all accountable and have no credibility however they select yet another pm. GE the only fair thing now.

PrincessScarlett · 20/10/2022 13:59

GoSomewhereThatDoes · 20/10/2022 13:58

I suspect Boris is feeling pretty smug about now.

And Rishi!

MarshaBradyo · 20/10/2022 13:59

It is absolutely torrential in this part of London. They must have just missed that

Huntswomanonthemove · 20/10/2022 14:00

Please not Sunak.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 20/10/2022 14:00

Two years and a few weeks before we have to have a General Election. Quite long enough to do a lot of damage. I hope against hope it's not Mordaunt or Braverman.

PAFMO · 20/10/2022 14:00

I've brought him out before, I'm just going to pop him in a cab and let him take over. He can't see, hear, or think. Perfect leader of the Tory party. I give you Boris, the Mango Stone. He's going to run the country in coalition with the Lettuce.

Do all governments have a natural shelf life? Seems to me that after about ten years the wheels start to come off, whatever party is in power.

LizTrussIsACylon · 20/10/2022 14:01

It's a poisoned chalice. Various factions in the Tory party can't agree on anything. Going into winter with the threat of blackouts. Massive cuts needed to plug the huge hole in the finances that Truss has left behind. Some polls have them at less than 20%.

Anyone who takes it on now would have to be insane. Which is worrying.

MrsLargeEmbodied · 20/10/2022 14:01

i think it needs a man unfortunately not penny moduant to bring discipline to those dreadful tories
